NEW PRO-LIFE & ELECTION PROGRAMS

Starting in September, EWTN is offering some new programs, which sound very appealing to me.

In The Gospel of Life in Health Care, Father Stephen Torraco*, explores the kind of person a health care professional is required to be -- both morally and spiritually -- as well as the moral issues at the beginning and toward end of life. It airs Sundays at 4 a.m. CT, Wednesdays at 3 a.m. CT, and Fridays at 9:30 p.m. CT. (30 minutes)

In Election 2004 - The Catholic Vote, Father Frank Pavone explains Church teachings, information on recent documents issued by the U.S. Bishops and the Vatican, the correct understanding of Church and State, what faithful citizenship encompasses, and what to expect from our elected officials. This airs Wednesdays at 4 a.m. CT and Fridays at 9 p.m. CT (30 minutes).

Suffering in Silence is a powerful and moving program about women coming to terms with the emotional and spiritual effects of having an abortion. October 3, 3:30 a.m. & 3:30 p.m. CT; Oct.5, 10:30 p.m. CT (30 minutes)

*Father Torraco is the author of "A Brief Catechism for Catholic Voters" which I recommend as a must-read for all Catholics before going to the polls. You can read it here http://www.ewtn.com/vote/brief_catechism.htm

Quote For the Day

The human person, created in the image and likeness of God, cannot become a slave to things, to economic systems, to technological civilization, to consumerism, to easy success."
