Pro-death Advocates Resorting to the Ridiculous

Alito is such a solid pro-life candidate for this position that the pro-death advocates are feeling extremely threatened and are using every tactic they can to belittle him, even resorting to the ridiculous. They are using sexist language to decry Bush's nominee and have even accused him of sympathizing with wife beaters.

I like Concerned Women of America Wendy Wright's response to their inaccurate and unsupported criticism of Alito.

"Planned Parenthood presumes all husbands are abusive and marriage is merely a living arrangement," Wright responded to Pearl's comments.

"What wives want most is to be loved, yet abortionists do not profit when husbands love their wives and babies," Wright explained. "It is financially advantageous to Planned Parenthood to separate wives from their husbands, so it demands that courts impose its will when its views are not popular among citizens who respect marriage and life."

This is just another example of Planned Parenthood's brainwashing of innocent, vulnerable women to obtain financial gain. The bottom line is money, power, and greed at the expense of family unity and innocent human lives.

    I see that you all are pretty staunch on your beliefs, but think for a moment what it is like to be in an abusive relationship and pregnant with no where to go and the possibility of being killed. It happens more often that not. Why it is your issue? It is the issue of the woman/couple and her God. Let it be.

    When innocent life is destroyed, it becomes everyone's issue. If we don't speak up for the innocent, who have no voice of their own to speak, then we are condoning murder. Would you stand by and watch someone being tortured, killed, and dismembered and do absolutely nothing?

Saint Michael de Sanctis: Patron of Cancer Patients

Today is the feast of Saint Michael de Sanctis, also known as St. Michael of the Saints, a Spanish Discalced Trinitarian priest, the patron of cancer patients. Michael Argemir was born on September 29, 1591 at Vic, Catalonia, Spain. At age 6, he told his parents that he planned to become a monk and began modeling his life after Saint Francis of Assisi. Michael’s parents died when he was about ten years old. He then served as an apprentice with a local merchant. During this apprenticeship, he continued his fervent devotion to the Lord, especially to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Saint Gerard of Brogne: Patron of Abbots

St. Gerard was born to a noble family in Staves, Belgium, in 895. He descended from a royal line of military men and at first felt a share in this call to arms. He trained for the army and, as a page of the count of Namur, he was sent on a special mission to the French court. There, Gerard realized that he was being called to the monastic life. He stayed in France and joined the Benedictines of St. Denis, abandoning his noble birthright and all his worldly possessions. He spent eleven years in France as a monk before becoming a priest. Following his ordination, he left for Belgium in order to found a new abbey on his own estate of Brogne. He was its abbot for twenty-two years and during that period was instrumental in introducing St. Benedict's Rule into numerous houses in Flanders, Lorraine and Champagne.He became known for his engaging sweetness of temper, his strict observance of the Rule of St. Benedict and for the replacement of lukewarm religious practice with true piety.
