May. 26 (CWNews.com) - Speaking to 300,000 people at the famous Marian shrine of Jasna Gora on Friday, Pope Benedict XVI asked the Catholic faithful to proclaim the Gospel "in a mature manner-- not infantile and not aggressive-- to the world of culture and of work, to the world of the media and of politics, to the world of family life and the life of society."

The "wisdom of the Gospel," the Pope said, can be "read in the works of the great saints, and verified in our own lives." He went on to say that the quest for holiness is carried out in everyday life, by those who follow the example of the Virgin Mary and "allow our lives to be penetrated by the power of God Himself."

  1. It's a beautiful image. I really enjoyed watching his trip to Poland, especially the solemn visit to Auschwitz. The rainbow was just so beautiful.
