JCPenney drops "Too Sexy for my Diaper" line

Thanks to the vocal concern of parents and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, retailer J.C. Penney, Co. has pulled an infant’s onesie that declared “I’m Too Sexy for my Diaper.” Meanwhile, racy store displays are popping up in advance of the Christmas shopping season, and Burger King launches an unappetizing and vulgar television ad campaign. CWA Policy Analyst Martha Kleder spoke with Bill Johnson, head of the American Decency Association about these issues and how the average shopper can have an impact for righteousness. I'm sure that the marketers thought this was quite clever and amusing, but as far as I am concerned it is really sick. Babies are a gift from God, not something to be used for sexual purposes or whatever else someone's evil inclinations or perversions might be. It never ceases to astonish me how direspectful secular society can be when it comes to the human body. Our bodies are pure, sacred temples of the Holy Spirit. It irks me so much that sex is continually being thrust upon us, beginning with infancy. I am happy that people took a stand on this -- there is only so much we Christians will tolerate. If we don't speak up about this garbage -- they'll just keep shoveling it out.

  1. Jean, isn't that just sickening! I am very surprised at JC Penney's for even considering that these would sell.

  2. Don't be surprised, Esther. Have you seen their latest "kids" catalog? The stuff printed on girls' shirts (and the backsides of the pants)...scary!
