Capitol Rally To Urge KS Legislators To Charge Tiller

Topeka, KS – Kansas’ top lobbying group, Kansans for Life, is organizing an urgent rally and press conference at the Capitol in Topeka on Tuesday, March 27, to urge legislators to pass a resolution that would force Attorney General Paul Morrison to prosecute Wichita abortionist George R. Tiller for committing illegal late-term abortions and other crimes.

“Operation Rescue will certainly be attending and supporting this effort 100%. We encourage everyone who can, even if you have to take a vacation day off work, to get to the Capitol on Tuesday in support of the Tiller Resolution,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “As a citizen, I look forward to the opportunity to meet with my representative and have a frank discussion about why Tiller is able to violate Kansas law at the cost of the innocent lives of viable babies.”

What: Urgent Rally To Urge KS Legislators To Charge Tiller
Where: Kansas State Capitol Building, Topeka, Kansas
When: Tuesday, March 27, 2007, 10 AM to 2 PM
Press Conference will be held at Noon

Since signs are not allowed inside the Capitol, participants are encouraged to wear red or pick up a “Charge Tiller: It’s The Law” T-shirt that will be available at the rally through Kansans for Life.

“We urgently need to take our message to the legislature, which is legally endowed with the authority to order the attorney general to prosecute cases,” said Newman. “Tiller should not be allowed to flaunt the law. The investigation has been done. The charges have been made. Now it is time to bring him to justice. We elected pro-life men and women for just such a time as this, and now it is time to hold their feet to the fire. Lives literally depend on it.”

“There’s a time to pray and there is a time to act. Tuesday is the time to act.”

For those outside Kansas, we encourage you to visit ChargeTiller.com to sign the petition and e-mail the key legislators.
