Post-Easter Rest for Holy Father Before 80th Birthday
Castel Gandolfo, Apr. 9, 2007 (CWNews.com) - Pope Benedict XVI has traveled to the papal summer residence at Castel Gandolfo for a few days of relaxation after a heavy schedule of public appearances during the Easter Triduum.
The Holy Father made the short helicopter flight to Castel Gandolfo after Easter Sunday ceremonies at the Vatican. On Easter Monday, April 9, the Pontiff led the midday Regina Caeli prayers at his summer residence.
The Pope is expected to spend most of the week at Castel Gandolfo. He is scheduled to return to the Vatican for a Mass at St. Peter's basilica on April 15, in anticipation of his 80th birthday the following day.
