In Honor of Our Blessed Mother Mary

Saturday is the day we honor Mary, Mother of God, and our Mother. To dedicate Saturday in honor of Mary is an ancient custom. It is based on a legendary account that Jesus appeared to Mary on the Saturday, the day after, his death. He did so to reward her for her steadfast faith in his divinity, which did not waver under the Cross. To learn more about this about this beautiful Catholic tradition, click here.

The Latin words to this hymn are as follows:

Ave María, grátia plena, Dóminus tecum. Benedícta tu in muliéribus, et benedíctus fructus ventris tui, Jesus.
Sancta María, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatóribus, nunc et in hora mortis nostræ. Amen.

English Translation:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
