Indiana Jones to do his own stunts in new film


I reported Harrison Ford's birthday here the other day. He just turned 65 - but he is still in really good shape.

It's true. Harrison Ford is doing his own stunts in the latest Indiana Jones movie.

The action star, who first introduced the fedora-wearing, bullwhip-cracking Indiana Jones in the 1981 classic "Raiders of the Lost Ark," is actually doing many of his own stunts in the latest film.

"He's doing them, he just has a few more ice packs and a few more massages," Kennedy said.

"And a lot of Celebrex," producer Frank Marshall added.

Stunts Ford will be doing in this movie:

Shouting at the kids to "get off his lawn"
Standing in the 5:20 rush hour line at Luby's
Playing a heart-stopping round of Duplicate Bridge
Sleeping through Larry King (will actually repeat this stunt on the Larry King show)
Voting
Complaining about it being too hot and too cold, all at the same time.

And the biggest stunt he's doing on the set?

Pretending to actually be attracted to Callista Flockheart.

    LOL! You had me going there, he's not really doing the stunts, is he?
    I LOVED "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" and the "Lost Ark" but the middle movie was just gross. I hope they keep the religion theme in the new one, that seemed to be the source of the Indy magic.

Today is the feast of Saint Michael de Sanctis, also known as St. Michael of the Saints, a Spanish Discalced Trinitarian priest, the patron of cancer patients. Michael Argemir was born on September 29, 1591 at Vic, Catalonia, Spain. At age 6, he told his parents that he planned to become a monk and began modeling his life after Saint Francis of Assisi. Michael’s parents died when he was about ten years old. He then served as an apprentice with a local merchant. During this apprenticeship, he continued his fervent devotion to the Lord, especially to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The saint of the day for August 31 is St. Raymond Nonnatus. He is the patron of expectant mothers, midwives, obstetricians, infertile couples, and newborn babies. Raymond was born at Portella, Catalonia, Spain in 1204, the son of wealthy parents. He was delivered by cesarean section when his mother died in childbirth. Hence his name non natus (not born). In his childhood, he seemed to find pleasure only in his devotions and serious duties. His father, sensing that Raymond was drawn to religious life, ordered him to manage one of the family farms. Raymond readily obeyed but spent his time with the shepherds and workers, studying and praying until his father abandoned the idea of making his son a worldly success.
