Today's Prayer Intercessions (Updated)

"God's Gift"

Christ the Lord is our day and our sunlight, shining on all men and never setting. Let us praise him, saying:
- O Lord, you are our life and our salvation!
Creator of the stars, we offer you in gratitude the first-fruits of this day,
and we commemorate your resurrection.
May your Spirit guide us today to do what is pleasing to you:
may your Wisdom lead us always.
Let us join together with joy at Mass this Sunday,
at the table of your word and your Body and Blood.
Our souls give you thanks
for your immeasurable kindness.

Update: Thanks be to God, for this answer to prayer.

For the renewal of the Church: that it will be a place where all may experience the holiness of God, forgiveness of sins, and deliverance from evil.

That the hungry of the world will be given daily bread, generous care, and friendship.

That the Lord will protect and preserve those who walk amid distress.

That God's kingdom will come to those who suffer oppression, prejudice, or persecution - especially the unborn, the disabled, and the elderly.

For the grace this week to work with greater fervor and commitment.

For the repose of the soul of Theresa's mother who passed away on Saturday morning and for healing, peace, and comfort for the family.

For an outpouring of graces on Ebeth's father - in- law and mother-in-law, who are elderly and not doing well and for comfort and peace for the family.

For healing for Christine's aunt who has a brain tumor.

For the success of the Midwest Family Conference to be held in Wichita next weekend.

For this special intention.

For Donna Marie's special intention.

For healing for Rosemary.

For Esther's special intentions.

For Seminarian Matthew's special intention. (See updates here.)

For Adoro te Devote as she struggles with the imminent loss of her beloved dog.

For Paul's conversion.

For Julie D.'s parents.

For C. who is struggling with a problem pregnancy.

For L., a woman who will be undergoing brain surgery to try to stop further brain damage caused by tumors; the surgery is planned in the beginning of August.

For all those suffering from cancer ( especially Diane (who has been fighting it for almost 3 years now), Fr. L., Dave, WI Catholic, Gloria, Robert, Harry and Vic, their caregivers, friends, and family.

For a full-time job with excellent benefits for Bill.

For continued healing for the accident I had on July 9 and for financial assistance to pay for the expenses entailed. (I applied for financial assistance for medication, but recently discovered that it takes several weeks to be approved.)

For all those previous requests made here and those around St. Blogs.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us,and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

O God, you are the protection of all who trust in you, for without you nothing is holy, nothing strong. Guide us and lead us with ever-increasing compassion. Make us make such use of the good things that pass away that we may share, even now, in the good things that endure. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.
