Today's Prayer Intercessions

Visual sunset of Holy Spirit with contrasting image of a bird in flight.

Christ is filled with grace and the Holy Spirit. Let us proclaim his greatness and trustfully ask him:- Lord, give us your Spirit.
Make our day happy, without disturbance, without sin, so that when we reach evening we can praise you joyfully with pure hearts.

May your radiance shine on us through the day:
guide the work of our hands.
Watch over us: let us do good in peace
and do what is right, with the strength you give us.
Look kindly on all who have asked for our prayers
and fill them with good things, both in body and in soul.

For the special intentions of the Holy Father.

For the Thoene Family Prayer Request. (Brock and Bodie ask for your prayers for Sarah and Luke Thoene and their soon-to-be-born baby girl. Sarah is in the hospital with pre-eclampsia. Baby Wilkie is 26 weeks along and much loved.)

For safe travel for Karina and her family as they move. (They were involved in an accident with a drunken driver during their long moving trip so far. No one was seriously hurt, thank God.)

For a respect for all human life from the womb to the tomb, for an end to abortion, euthansia and all sins against human life.

For the repose of the soul of Theresa's mother who passed away on Saturday morning and for healing, peace, and comfort for the family.

For an outpouring of graces on Ebeth's father - in- law and mother-in-law, who are elderly and not doing well and for comfort and peace for the family.

For the success of the Midwest Family Conference to be held in Wichita next weekend.

For Seminarian Matthew's special intention. (See updates here.)

For Paul's conversion.

For C. who is struggling with a problem pregnancy.

For a full-time job with excellent benefits for Bill.

For continued healing for the accident I had on July 9 and for financial assistance to pay for the expenses entailed. (I applied for financial assistance for medication, but recently discovered that it takes several weeks to be approved.)

For all those previous requests made here and those around St. Blogs.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us,and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Lord, be with us in all we plan and help us in all we do, so that our every action begins from you and is completed through you.Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.
