Today's Intercessory Prayers

Christ is the wisdom and power of God and he delights to be with the sons of men. Trustingly let us call on him: Be close to us, Lord.

Lord Jesus Christ, you called us to your kingdom of light:

make us live our lives rightly, pleasing God in all things.

You stand among us, unrecognized by the world:
show your face to mankind.

You are closer to us than we are to ourselves:

keep strong in our hearts the trusting hope of salvation.

You are the spring from which holiness flows:

let us be holy and unstained on the day when you come again.

Today, Lord we pray for the following intentions:

The health and strength of The Holy Father and his special intentions for this month.

For birthday blessings for my niece, Emily, who turns 29 today.

For the repose of the soul of Judith Pomazal, the mother of Deacon Bob Pomazal, and a dear friend.

For this young man, for his family, and for the repose of the souls of all those who were killed and for peace and comfort for their families.

For Alexis, who is very ill and has been missing for two weeks.

For Bill's special intentions.

For peace in our homes, our hearts, our community, and in the world.

For the lonely, the brokenhearted, and those who are strangers, that they will experience God's love and encouragement in their hearts through our actions.

For all those who feel hopeless, that their hearts be lifted up in grace as they come to know the Truth and develop faith in the One who loves them unconditionally.

For a renewal of the culture of life and the protection of all human life throughout the world.

For the passage of the Pregnant Women Support Act.

For the success of the Hollywood Advent Retreat and a just resolution to the Writers Guild strike.

For all the prayer intentions at One Came Back.

For the special intentions of all my readers in accordance with God's will.

Our Father...

Show forth your power, O Lord, and bring your great strength to our aid. Although our sins impede our steps, let your grace help us to go forward. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.
