My Daybook for June 8, 2009
Outside my Window
The sun is shining, the trees, bushes, and lawn are all green, and it's a beautiful day!
Rambling Thoughts
Today, I'm thinking about all the things I need to catch up on - laundry, housework, writing and reading projects. However, I don't have a lot of energy as I have been taking Benadryl for a mysterious rash that I developed over the weekend. I hope it isn't anything serious. I really don't want measles -- I've had them twice already! Maybe I'm just allergic to the new body wash I started using because the store where I shop no longer carries my usual brand.
Update: It seems that I have hives - what fun!

In Thanksgiving
I'm thanking God for: the beautiful flower garden and vegetable garden we have this year as well as the nice weather here. The tomatoes are getting larger on the Better Boy and on the smaller yellow tomato plant, I have one small tomato that is nearly ripe.
I'm also thankful for the relaxing weekend. We went out to eat with friends on Friday night and to a movie -- Disney Pixar's Up -- which was so good! It's one of the best films I have seen in a long time. I did see Star Trek the first weekend when it came out and loved it, but I wouldn't recommend it for children or young teens -- it's strictly adult or older, more mature teens.

Nose Inserted
I am reading many different books right now. Here are the titles of a few: Sexual Wisdom for Catholic Adolescents, Escape Adulthood, and Devotion to Our Lady by Fr. Manelli, FI, STD (not to be confused with True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis de Montfort, which I have read a few times.) I'm also reading a number of books on the saints. I have been reading my Magnificat and another devotional at bedtime so that when I go to Mass the following day, I'll be prepared for the readings.
Folded Hands, Bowed Head
I am praying for many special intentions on my three prayer lines. I am praying especially for three intentions that are close to my heart through the intercession of St. Joseph.
In My Ears
I am hearing the sounds of the washing machine and the dryer.
Around the House
It's pretty quiet here. For supper tonight we'll be having lamb chops, which we purchased at the farmer's market at a very affordable price. I will probably be making some sweet potatoes and a salad with it.

My Favorite Thing
Is to be outdoors when it is such a nice day like today. Yesterday it got up to 96 and was very humid, so I am thankful for cooler days in the low 80's like today. The storms we had last night seemed to cool things off here.
For the rest of the week
Lots of work to do -- writing, submitting book proposal, reading and reviews to do. However, I just feel like sleeping, which I can't do as I'm going to see the Dr. in a little while.
Beautiful meditation by Pope Benedict XVI
Worth a thousand words:
Those are beautiful Asiatic lilies.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are Oriental lilies (Stargazer is number one - I have about 40 of them now), because of the smell. Wonderful!
