New Christmas book published on Pope John Paul II

December 15, 2009. Italian writer Susanna Tamaro just published a book titled ‘The Big Tree’ and has presented it in Rome at the Paul VI International Library.

It’s a fable, that depicts a real story about how  a Christmas tree in St. Peter’s Square turns itself into a fascinating observer of everything that happens around it.

“This book describes human nature and the importance of how to live it profoundly through, animals, plants because it’s a metaphor.”

‘The Big Tree’ is a story about love, friendship and loyalty that aims to transmit a positive outlook on life, nature and humanity. A book that recalls fundamental human values.

“We live in time when we tend to think that we have to be stronger, more astute. But I think that a mans life starts to have meaning when one lives as the complete opposite of this. We need to recall that human virtues are very important because they’re  form part of our human nature.”

This tale in which animals and planets talk to each other pays a brief tribute to a very special character. Pope John Paul II.

Susanna Tamaro
Writer

“I wanted John Paul II because he was the type of pope who loved the mountains, trees, nature. Benedict XVI is also that way. But I wanted to characterize him  this way, it’s particular.”

A charming book that get both young and old to witness Christmas in a very special way.
