Benedict XVI gets new Popemobile, makes debut Saturday
December 7, 2012. (Romereports.com) On Friday, the Vatican unveiled a new Popemobile, which Benedict XVI will get to use on Saturday morning. The new model, a Mercedes Benz M-Class, was custom built for the Pope and have been a year in the making.
The peal colored vehicle is also a few inches shorter than the current models, making it much more easy to transport during the Pope's trips overseas. It also feature a new window display to give Benedict XVI a better view.
Keeping in line with more recent models, the new Popemobile also has fortified features such as bulletproof glass to keep the pontiff safe.
Benedict XVI will break in the new models on Saturday morning when he pays homage to the Immaculate Conception at Piazza Spagna.
