Pope meets with heads of Vatican Dicasteries

September 10, 2013. (Romereports.com) One by one, Pope Francis greeted the department heads of all the dicasteries within the Roman Curia. The meeting was called, so that the Pope could listen to all their concerns and even advice they'd like to give Pope Francis, about the strengths and needs of their respective departments.

Among those in attendance was Cardinal Peter Turkson, who leads the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace. Also there was Msgr. Claudio Celli, president of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications. Also, Cardinal Marc Ouellet, prefect of the Congregation for Bishops. And from the Congregation for Eastern Churches, Cardinal Leonardo Sandri.

The Pope, who has been in office for six months, has met with these department heads before.  However, this meeting is getting a bit more attention, since in the coming month of October, the Pope will meet with a group of eight cardinals, commissioned with reforming the Roman Curia.

The Vatican says Tuesday's meeting will serve as a foundation for the Pope's first meeting with the Commission of eight cardinals.
