Therese, The Movie
I really enjoyed Therese and would give it an A-. It is a combination of drama and comedy -- unlike any film I have ever seen on the biography of St. Therese. It is simply delightful and will have you in stitches. It effected me in the same way that 'The Reluctant Saint' (The biography of St. Joseph Cupertino) did.
I expected a profound presentation, focusing more on her deep spirituality, but the movie portrays Therese, as she is on a human level -- child-like, joyful, and imperfect -- totally dependent on the grace of God.
Therese is a very unique portrayal of this beloved saint and is beautiful in a "simple" way! We need more movies like this to lift us up and inspire us to live holy lives.
