BLAGO WINS: Senate 'plans to accept' Burris for vacancy

Image
WASHINGTON (CBS) ― Senate appointee Roland Burris met with top Senate Democrats Wednesday, who seemed to do an about-face from the vocal opposition they expressed last week about his appointment. Roland Burris is back from Washington, and Gov. Rod Blagojevich's pick to replace Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate says the only thing he regrets is not taking the oath with the newest members of the 111th Congress. "We don't anticipate any type of roadblock once the procedures are done," Burris said. Read the entire article. We shall see how this plays out in the days ahead. It's amazing that someone (Blago) so openly crooked can remain in office, but that's (Chicago) IL politics for you. Another Pro-choice Kennedy in Office?

Image
How Support for Abortion Became Kennedy Dogma The Wall Street Journal For faithful Roman Catholics, the thought of yet another pro-choice Kennedy positioned to campaign for the unlimited right to abortion is discouraging. Yet if Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of Catholics John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, is appointed to fill the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Hillary Clinton, abortion-rights advocates will have just such a champion. Ms. Kennedy was so concerned to assure pro-abortion leaders in New York, Britain's Guardian newspaper reported on Dec. 18, that on the same day Ms. Kennedy telephoned New York Gov. David Patterson to declare interest in the Senate seat, "one of her first calls was to an abortion rights group, indicating she will be strongly pro-choice." MORE I don't understand why Ms. Kennedy calls herself "Catholic" when she supports a pro-death, anti-Catholic agenda and creates a public scandal for the Catholic Church. She ha...

Defiant Governor Rod Blagojevich fills Obama's Seat

A defiant Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Tuesday named a black political trailblazer to Barack Obama's Senate seat, a surprise move that put the governor's opponents in the uncomfortable position of trying to block his choice from becoming the Senate's only black member. Blagojevich's appointment of former state Attorney General Roland Burris injected race into the drama surrounding the embattled governor, who repeatedly sought to distance his selection from charges that he tried to sell the seat to the highest bidder. This is a typical move on the part of Governor B. and doesn't surprise me one bit. He is one of the "untouchables", isn't he? Related: Blagojevich snubs Senate, taps Burris for seat

IL Governor Blagojevich arrested on Federal Charges

~ Via DJJOS. Gov. Rod Blagojevich and his chief of staff, John Harris, were arrested today by FBI agents for what U.S. Atty. Patrick Fitzgerald called a "staggering" level of corruption involving pay-to-play politics in Illinois' top office. Blagojevich is accused of a wide-ranging criminal conspiracy , including alleged attempts by the governor to try to sell or trade the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by President-elect Barack Obama in exchange for financial benefits for the governor and his wife. Blagojevich also is accused of obtaining campaign contributions in exchange for other official actions. Blagojevich was taken into federal custody at his North Side home this morning--one day shy of his 52nd birthday. At a news conference late this morning, Fitzgerald said Blagojevich "has taken us to a truly new low" and went on "a political corruption crime spree. We acted to stop that crime spree." Fitzgerald also accused Blagojevich of attempting "to...

If Barack Obama Becomes President....

Image
Many people today are angry with the recent bailout that took place in out country (myself included) and some are pointing fingers of blame in the wrong direction. For a truthful and objective explanation, please see my post Barack Obama, ACORN, and The Economic Crisis . However, I am channeling that anger into prayer and action – to get the truth out to the American people – especially those who have been ill-informed or deceived by the mainstream media. What can we expect if angry voters vote for the wrong candidate – Barack Obama? an increase in abortions due to loss of protection for the unborn an increase in infanticide an increase in euthanasia loss of our second amendment rights an increase in taxes an increase in same sex marriages a loss of religious tolerance – more acts of hatred and persecution toward Christians and other faiths lack of tolerance and respect for traditional marriages (between one man and one woman) the take-over of our country by terrorists whom Obama has c...

Sarah Palin’s Personal E-Mail Hacked, Posted Online

Image
In the latest of a series of invasions into Sarah Palin’s personal life, hackers have broken into the Republican vice presidential candidate’s private e-mail account, and a widely read Web site has published screen grabs from it. An article Wednesday in Gawker.com posts family photos and snapshots of e-mail exchanges the Alaska governor had with colleagues. Gawker says the-email account has since been shut down, but it will leave the images up on its site for all to see. ( Fox News) This is a shocking invasion of the Governor's privacy and a violation of law," said Rick Davis, campaign manager for the McCain-Palin campaign, in a statement. "The matter has been turned over to the appropriate authorities and we hope that anyone in possession of these e-mails will destroy them. We will have no further comment." (Anchorage Daily News) My Comments: The more she is attacked by the opposition, the stronger her supporters back her and the more you attract voters to her side....

Jill Stanek: Will Sebelius' abortion stance abort her chance as Obama VP?

Image
On June 11 CBS News moved pro-abortion KS Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to the top of the list of Barack Obama's prospective running mates. Read the rest here. Via Jill Stanek. My Comments: Late-term abortionist millionarie George Tiller has been supporting Sebelius for years and she is well-known in Kansas as "Tiller's governor" so it doesn't surprise me one bit that she is a very desirable candidate in Obama's eyes. And, I must agree with Obama's statement that she is "talented". Yes, she certainly is "talented" when it comes to collecting blood money from Tiller for her campaigns.

Guess Who's Running for Office?

It's our guy, Paul, blogger at Thoughts of a Regular Guy . This shouldn't surprise anyone. Paul is very bright, 100% pro-life, down to earth, in touch with the concerns of real people working in the real world, he's a guy with strong convictions and high morals. Here's how Paul describes himself: I am a pro-life conservative, a devout Roman Catholic, a veteran of service in the U.S. Air Force during the Cold War, a married man and father of four children, a college graduate with a degree in economics, a regular guy who commutes daily to a job in the city.
