YouTube Removes New Undercover Video of Planned Parenthood Without Explanation

Image
Without offering any specific explanation , the video-sharing site YouTube has removed a new video by the student group Live Action that shows dishonest counseling practices at Planned Parenthood. The video first plays undercover footage of a Planned Parenthood counselor from Tucson, AZ telling a patient that images of aborted fetuses "are not real" and then shows photographs of a completed abortion and documentation of their authenticity. Lila Rose , 20-year-old president of Live Action, calls on YouTube to re-instate the video in accordance with its own guidelines: "Since the video we posted does not violate any terms of use, we expect YouTube to re-instate it immediately. YouTube's own 'Community Guideline Tips' advise that intense or disturbing imaging should be 'balanced with additional context and information,' which is exactly what Live Action has done." YouTube has removed videos posted by Live Action without explanation before, including...

Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity

Image
Elizabeth was born on July 18, 1880 in a military camp in the diocese of Bourges, France to Captain Joseph Catez and Marie Catez. Her father died when she was seven, leaving her mother to raise Elizabeth and her sister. Elizabeth was a strong-willed, exuberant, and popular young lady. She had a great reverence to God, and practiced a beautiful, but simple prayer life. She was a gifted pianist and had a talent for making friends, participating in a very active social life. At the same time, she never neglected those who were in most need of her gifts. She frequently visited the sick and taught catechism to children. On August 2, 1901, she entered the Discalced Carmelite monastery in Dijon, France at the age of 21. She experienced great periods of spiritual growth, but also periods of darkness. She took her final vows two years later and became a spiritual director for many, leaving behind a legacy of letters and retreat guides. She died on November 9, 1906, at the age of 26 from Addiso...

All Souls' Day: Praying for the Poor Souls

Image
On All Souls' Day, Roman Catholics commemorate the faithful departed or those baptized Christians believed to be in purgatory . It is celebrated on November 2. In the early days of Christianity the names of the departed brethren were recorded on tablets. Later, in the sixth century, the Benedictine monasteries commemorated their deceased during Pentecost. In Spain there was such a day on Saturday before before Pentecost, at the time of St. Isidore (d. 636). In Germany there existed a ceremony of praying to the dead on 1 October. St. Odilo of Cluny (d. 1048) ordered the commemoration of all the faithful departed to he held annually in the monasteries of his congregation. From there, it spread among the other congregations of the Benedictines and among the Carthusians to various dioceses. On this day, three requiem masses are celebrated: one for the celebrant, one for the departed, and one for the Holy Father. Prayer for the Poor Souls in Purgatory English: V. All Saints' Day

Te Deum Laudamus (Chanted by the Benedictine Monks Abbaye Saint-Maurice- Clervaux, Luxembourg 1998). The mp3 for this chant is here. Video via Catholiques. Today's feast honors all the saints of the Church, known and unknown, whose virtues and efforts in this life are considered to have earned them an eternal reward with God. On this day, Catholics are asked to reflect on holiness and sainthood and to celebrate the holiness of men and women who gave their lives in faithfulness and service to God, and whose witness continues to inspire us today. According to tradition, Catholics did honor Christian martyrs on May 13. Pope Boniface IV created Feast of All Martyrs in 615. Pope Gregory IV changed the date to November 1 to put in the place of pagan festivities in 844. He also moved it on the practical grounds that Rome in summer could not accommodate the great number of pilgrims who flocked to it. In 741, the feast was used to celebrate everyone in Heaven. The name of the day changed t...

40 Eucharistic Desecration You Tube Videos Pulled

Fmsdude just pulled his 40 You Tube videos of Eucharistic desecration. Apparently someone found his address and wrote a letter to his father, suggesting he encourage his son to remove the videos. Apparently, there is a law in Canada against desecrating religious objects and the letter mentioned this. Please continue to pray for the soul of the desecrator and all those who encouraged him by their vile comments on the You Tube site. Lord, hear our prayer! ~ Via Crossed The Tiber. H/T: Esther.

Saint Ignatius of Antioch, Bishop and Martyr

Image
Today is the memorial of St. Ignatius, one of the great Bishops of the early Church. In the Martyrology we read: "At Rome, the holy bishop and martyr Ignatius. He was the second successor to the apostle Peter in the see of Antioch. In the persecution of Trajan he was condemned to the wild beasts and sent in chains to Rome. There, by the emperor's order, he was subjected to most cruel tortures in the presence of the Senate and then thrown to the lions. Torn to pieces by their teeth, he became a victim for Christ." The Apostles Peter and Paul, who planted the faith in Antioch, left directions that Ignatius should succeed Evodius as bishop of that city. Ignatius served as bishop of Antioch for forty years, proving himself an exemplary pastor. On the journey to Rome he wrote seven different letters to seven different churches. In these he discussed Christ, the structure of the Church, and the Christian life. He was condemned to death by being thrown to wild animals and was ma...

St. Teresa of Avila: Favorite Quotes and Prayers Prayer for a Busy Life by St. Teresa of Avila Brief Biography of St. Teresa of Avila Detailed Biography of St. Teresa of Avila Excerpts from Interior Castle : "This body has one fault, that the more people pamper it, the more its wants are made known. It is strange how much it likes to be indulged. How well it finds some good pretext to deceive the poor soul! . . . Oh, you who are free from the great troubles of the world, learn to suffer a little for the love of God without everyone's knowing it! . . . " "Sometimes the Devil proposes to us great desires, so that we shall not put our hand to what we have to do, and serve our Lord in possible things, but stay content with having desired impossible ones. Granting that you can help much by prayer, don't try to benefit all the world, but those who are in your company, and so the work will be better for you are much bounden to them...." Fatima: The Marvelous Miracle of the Sun

Image
Today in Fatima, Portugal, in 1917, the sixth apparition at Fatima -- the marvelous miracle of the sun --took place in the sky before 70,000 witnesses. On October 13, 1917, the three children Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta, went to the field called the Cova da Iria as Our Lady had instructed. There was a huge crowd gathered even though it was pouring rain. They were there to see the miracle. They had come from all over Portugal. The press was covering this story and it appeared in the European papers. Our Lady spoke "I want to tell you that a chapel is to be built here in my honor. I am the Lady of the Rosary. Continue always to pray the Rosary every day. The war is going to end, and the soldiers will soon return to their homes. Do not offend the Lord our God any more, because He is already so much offended. "Then, opening her hands, she made them reflect on the sun, and as she ascended, the reflection of her own light continued to be projected on the sun itself. At this time t...

Where's The Truth, Barry?

Via Steve Kellmeyer: Bill Ayers, best known for starting the Weather Underground, which specialized in killing police officers and blowing up buildings, was also famous for telling children to kill their parents to help foment the revolution. He also desecrated a flag in 2000 for a magazine photo op. Ayers gave Obama his political start by hosting a political fund-raiser in his own living room . He was praised by Michelle Obama for his knowledge of children's issues (which I suppose they got their issues from killing their parents??? but I digress). Now the Obama camp is denying that Barack had any knowledge whatsoever that Ayers was ever a terrorist. Read Kellmeyer's entire post. You really do need to watch the entire video. You will hear Obama saying the job Ayers gave him is one of his major qualifications for political office. He also calls Rev Meeks and Father Pfleger friends. The video also lays out the argument that Ayers gave an unqualified Obama the jobs that allowed Obama to buy his way into public office. JP Catholic Students Challenge the Culture of Death

Via Michael Barber: JP Catholic students are all over two big propositions in California--and now the mainstream news media is taking notice of their efforts. First, Proposition 4, or Sarah's Law, would require parental notification for abortion. Right now, a high school can't give an aspirin to a student without notifying parents--but a child can get an abortion and the parents don't have to know a thing about it. This, of course, enables child predators, as our students highlight in this ad. This ad aired in California on television immediately after the Vice Presidential debate last Thursday. Second, Proposition 8 would amend the state constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman. Yes, we already voted on this a few years ago and such a definition won a majority of the vote (61%). But the California Supreme Court ruled (4-3) that the vote didn't matter and legalized gay marriage despite the vote. The students have been making ads for that as wel...
