Action Alert: KS Gov. To Act By Friday On Budget Denying Tax Money to Planned Parenthood
Calls and e-mails needed to insure that money is redirected to legitimate health providers Topeka, KS - Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson has indicated that he will act on the state budget by Friday. The budget contains an amendment that redirects tax money that once went to Planned Parenthood to hospitals and other legitimate health care clinics. Parkinson has described his abortion views as "very similar, if not completely similar" to former Gov. Kathleen Sebelius' extremist abortion policies. The amendment passed both houses of the Legislature after its sponsor Sen. Tim Hueslkamp released an undercover audio recording of a phone call to Planned Parenthood where an illegal sexual relationship between a supposed 14-year old girl and a 23-year old man was ignored. The Planned Parenthood worker even told the girl that her adult boyfriend could pick up her birth control prescription for her.
