Sarasota, Florida Planned Parenthood Denied Govt Funds Now Does Abortions

Sarasota, FL (LifeNews.com) -- In October, county officials in Sarasota County in Florida cut thousands of dollars of funding to a local Planned Parenthood. Now, pro-life advocates say the facility has started doing abortions in what may be an attempt to generate more in annual income. Officials, citing poor economic conditions and the need to better balance the city budget, removed the second $12,500 of the original $25,000 allocated for Planned Parenthood family planning programs. Despite the efforts of dedicated pro-lifers in Sarasota, Planned Parenthood has opened its new abortion center and did abortions for the first time last Friday. Jim Sedlak, the head of STOPP International, a Planned Parenthood watchdog group, shed more light on the situation in an email to LifeNews.com. "Planned Parenthood was met by a group of pro-lifers who are dedicated to be present whenever babies are scheduled to die," he said. Full story at LifeNews.com

(22 December 2008) – American Life League and the Diocese of Amarillo scored a major victory this week as Planned Parenthood prepares to completely withdraw from the Texas Panhandle. Using American Life League's STOPP project to defeat Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion chain has been completely eradicated from the diocese of Amarillo, Texas."Once again we see that the STOP Planned Parenthood plan works – even on a grand scale," said Jim Sedlak, vice president of American Life League and director of the STOPP project. "We have been honored to work closely with Bishop John Yanta, Respect Life Coordinator Rita Diller, and all those in the Amarillo Diocese who, since 1997, have worked towards the day when Planned Parenthood would no longer exist in the Texas Panhandle. Through the grace of God, that day will come next week." In 1997, Planned Parenthood operated 19...

The Evils of Planned Parenthood; What You Can Do to Stop Them

Image
By Jean M. Heimann This past weekend I had the wonderful opportunity of attending the Right to Life of Kansas conference and heard the well-known and highly esteemed executive director of STOPP International and the Vice President of American Life League , Jim Sedlak , deliver the key note address at the banquet. I would like to share some of his ideas from that talk, which I have put into my own words. Babies being Murdered in Mass Numbers Every two minutes a baby dies somewhere in a Planned Parenthood abortion facility in the US. In 2006, there were 289,750 abortions at Planned Parenthood – in other words – a little over a quarter of a millions babies died. 5,000 babies per week die at Planned Parenthood. To put this number into perspective, let’s look at the horrific tragedy that took place in the US on September 11, 2001. On that day, 3000 innocent human lives were taken by terrorists, and our country rightfully mourned their deaths. Everyday in the US, 5,000 babies’ lives are ta...

New Hampshire newspaper rejects anti-Planned Parenthood ads

It's apparent -- to pro-life leader Jim Sedlak, at least -- that the newspaper in Concord, New Hampshire, is reluctant to print anything that puts Planned Parenthood in a bad light. Hear This Report A pro-life advocate says a New Hampshire newspaper rejected an ad that exposed the atrocities of Planned Parenthood, even though taxpayers are forced to fund the abortion provider. Jim Sedlak, who heads the Stop Planned Parenthood ( STOPP ) project of the American Life League, says when a hearing was held last week concerning a proposed bill in New Hampshire to defund the federally-funded abortion provider, his group traveled to the state capitol of Concord to testify. Sedlak explains that in conjunction with that appearance, STOPP tried to place ads in the Concord Monitor to expose what Planned Parenthood is all about -- promoting sexual promiscuity and abortion for profit. He says the newspaper rejected the ad. "We then sent them a second ad and eventually a third ad on differen...
