Cardinal Sean O'Malley Will Boycott Boston College Commencement

This just in from the Cardinal Newman Society: Just this Friday afternoon, The Cardinal Newman Society learned that Cardinal Sean O'Malley has publicly challenged Boston College for inviting pro-abortion commencement speaker, Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny. He urged Boston College to "work to redress the confusion, disappointment and harm caused by not adhering to the Bishops' directives." Marcus Grodi to Emcee Christendom's Catholic History Conference

Via the Cardinal Newman Society : Christendom College in Front Royal, Virginia, recently announced that it will hold its summer conference this July focusing on Catholic history. The College indicated that the event will be in memory of the late Catholic historian and founder of Christendom, Dr. Warren H. Carroll. EWTN host Marcus Grodi is scheduled to emcee the conference, which will also feature "six prominent and dynamic historians," according to the College. "History is essential in understanding who we are not only as human beings, but also as Catholics — as the people of God," says College President Dr. Timothy O'Donnell. Jesuit Professor Describes His Pro-Life Conversion

Via Tim Drake at the Cardinal Newman Society: Reflecting on the 40th anniversary of the Roe v.Wade decision, Jesuit Father John J. Conley, Knott Professor of Philosophy and Theology at Loyola University Maryland took the occasion to write an article in America magazine.
