Women Injured by Abortion Confront Florida Barack Obama Supporters

Tampa, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Four women who were injured emotionally and spiritually by their abortions and regret their decisions confronted supporters of Barack Obama at a rally this week in Florida. The members of the post-abortion group Operation Outcry stood on the sidewalk holding signs that read “My Abortion Hurt Me." MORE LifeNews also reports one of the members of the post-abortion group as saying: "What surprised me the most was that many people that spoke to us were pro-life and didn't have a clue about Barack Obama’s liberal voting record." I found this to be true when Barack Obama was running for U.S. Senator as well. At that time, I was a resident of IL and served on a community voter's board for a local newspaper (which was very liberal.) I was the token conservative. No one there seemed to know what Barack Obama stood for, yet they were impressed with his charisma, his looks, and the canned speech he gave at the Democratic National Convention. Tha...

It's all about Obama

Obama is the hot topic around the blogosphere these days, as he indeed should be. Who would have thought that such a radical anti-life, anti-family candidate, anti-Christian would suddenly pop out of nowhere (with very little experience) and run for the highest office in our land? From the editors of the National Catholic Register : It’s important for Americans to know exactly where Barack Obama stands on abortion, because abortion is more than just a "Catholic issue." It's one of the fundamental issues Americans should be most concerned about. The United States was founded on the rights to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” and Americans have spent the past two centuries since trying to live up to those founding principles. First came disagreements over the pursuit of happiness — religious and economic liberty. Then, over slavery. Today’s big battle is over the most important right: the right to life. Obama’s votes and official positions deny the right to life...

Obama's 57 States

At a campaign event in Beaverton, OR, Obama claimed to have visited 57 U.S. states during the campaign. Stop the ACLU and The Anchoress have some interesting comments to make on their blogs about this. Not only is geography a tough subject for Obama to tackle, but he also struggles with history, as Jack Kelly points out here.

Fr. Frank Pavone: Election Enthusiasm

I can't wait for November 4, because on that day, by voting, I'm going to exercise a key aspect of my citizenship in the United States and in the Kingdom of God. In many states, people can vote before November 4, thanks to the provisions of "early voting" - which is a very good idea, given the many unforeseen circumstances that could arise on Election Day to get between us and the voting booth. (To see what the rules are in your state, visit www.priestsforlife.org/states ). Why am I looking forward so eagerly to voting? Because a lot is at stake. One key example is the makeup of the courts. The Constitution establishes the Supreme Court, and says that Congress can establish other courts if it so chooses. Now courts are not given the right to create laws; only legislatures do that. Courts are supposed to resolve disputes related to the application and interpretation of laws. In our day, however, the courts have radically transgressed the bounds of their authority, and ...

Huck not only "stands up", but stands out, too!

What a positive message! Contrast this with Hillary's and Obama's negative and childish ad campaign discussed at Stop the ACLU. Then, while you're at it, if you haven't seen it yet (once is more than enough) take a look at McCain's latest ad admitting he's a liberal . Slip of the tongue? I think he accidentally spit out the truth.

An Election Prayer to Mary

Image
I first began praying this prayer along with the rosary with a small prayer group in 2004 and fell in love with it. O most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, at this most critical time, we entrust the United States of America to your loving care. Most Holy Mother, we beg you to reclaim this land for the glory of your Son. Overwhelmed with the burden of the sins of our nation, we cry to you from the depths of our hearts and seek refuge in your motherly protection. Look down with mercy upon us and touch the hearts of our people. Open our minds to the great worth of human life and to the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Free us from the falsehoods that lead to the evil of abortion and threaten the sanctity of family life. Grant our country the wisdom to proclaim that God's law is the foundation on which this nation was founded, and that He alone is the True Source of our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. O Merciful Mother, give us the cou...

Is Not Voting a Sin?

From Fr. Frank Pavone, M.E.V. And What I Have Failed to Do... What's this I hear from some people that they might "sit out" the Presidential election because they aren't comfortable with the likely choice of candidates? Since when are elections supposed to make us "comfortable?" Since when do we exercise that right to vote, for which people fought and died, only when it's easy and clear-cut, and our choices are just the way we want them to be? At Mass we pray, "I confess to Almighty God...that I have sinned...in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do..." What we fail to do can make us just as guilty as what we do. A sin is a wrong choice, and to decide not to do something is just as much of a choice as to decide to do something. A sin of omission is still a sin - and we are still responsible for the results. What, then, makes us think that we are more responsible for the results of voting than for the ...

You can keep McCain: We don't want him!

It's late and I really didn't think that I would be talking about politics tonight, but a voice inside is telling me that I must speak out on this. Today I received an email from the Director of Catholics for McCain, attempting to convince me what a great guy John McCain will make for President. He shared an AP article on KS Senator Sam Brownback backing McCain. When it comes to pro-life issues, I don't like to mince words. Here is my response to him: As a pro-life Catholic Kansan, I cannot and will not support John McCain . My reasons are as follows: 1. He is not 100% pro-life, pro-family. He supports gay marriages and recreational embryonic stem cell research. He even voted against the Federal Marriage Amendment. 2. He is supported by criminal George Soros , who also backs Obama and Hillary Clinton. His views on human life are not vastly different than theirs. Either you support human life or you don't. 3. He will not protect our borders (as evidenced by his actions) ...

John McCain Pro-death; funded by George Soros

Image
After reading these posts about George Soros funding Senator John McCain since 2001: at WorldNetDaily , Causa Nostrae Laetitiae , and Catholics for Huckabee , there is no way I could ever vote for Republican John McCain if he is chosen as the Republican candidate in the upcoming Presidential election. Hillary, Obama, and McCain are basically on the same team -- they're all pro-death. Be sure to check out today's WND editorial: Who's the real John McCain? It is eye-opening and also offers some good advice. EWTN Raymond Arroyo's The World Over has also solidly confirmed that John McCain is not pro-life, but is pro-death. Check out the video below.

Need help on deciding a candidate?

Leticia offers a quiz on selecting your presidential candidate. I took it and it confirmed my choice. Huckabee scores a 72% similarity on all of my beliefs. Using the issue of abortion alone I scored the following similarities with the candidates: Mike Huckabee shares a 68% similarity with your beliefs on Abortion and Birth Control. Hillary Clinton shares a 14% similarity with your beliefs on Abortion and Birth Control. Barack Obama shares a 10% similarity with your beliefs on Abortion and Birth Control.

The times they are a changin'

Image
By Guest Blogger Mark Geitzen I hope and recommend that all proLife Kansas Republicans support Alan Keyes at the Republican Caucus on Saturday morning. Oh, I know what the delegate count is, and my only hope is that Alan Keyes will have a strong enough showing in Kansas and other states, that he will be chosen as a Vice-Presidential candidate. Here is why: First, Alan Keyes is one of the most intelligent men in America. He is an original thinker, and one of America’s most dynamic speakers. He is also a true conservative on all issues, and has a particularly good understanding of foreign relations, having had the experience of serving as a UN Ambassador. My second reason is more pragmatic, and it can be summed up in the words of a 1964 Bob Dylan ballad that goes... "The times they are a-changin'." There is a good wind blowing across America, and it is coming from deep within the heart of every fair-minded American who says (or at least quietly thinks…): "Black Americ...

New Jersey Right to Life Endorses Mike Huckabee for GOP Nomination

Image
Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee continues to rack up endorsements from statewide pro-life organizations in advance of the Super Tuesday primary. While John McCain and Mitt Romney are campaigning as opponents of abortion, the groups say Huckabee is the strongest pro-life candidate. Marie Tasy, the director of New Jersey Right to Life, told LifeNews.com on Monday that her group's political action committee has endorsed Huckabee. "After careful consideration of all the candidates' positions, New Jersey Right to Life PAC has decided to endorse Mike Huckabee for President. Mike Huckabee is the only Republican candidate that is solidly pro-life," Tasy said. "We encourage all of our members and supporters and everyone who is truly interested in advancing a culture of life that seeks protection for every member of the human family, from the moment of fertilization until natural death, to vote for Mike Huckabee on Tuesday," Tasy added. Right to Life Groups Endorse Huckabee

Tennessee Right to Life Next Pro-Life Group to Endorse Mike Huckabee Tennessee Right to Life, on Monday, became the next pro-life group to issue an endorsement for Mike Huckabee -- the former Arkansas governor many pro-life advocates consider the strongest pro-life candidate on the GOP side. As LifeNews.com has reported, Tennessee joins its sister affiliates in Missouri, Arizona, Georgia and Montana. Tennessee is one of the states with a primary election on Super Tuesday and Tennessee Right to Life officials told LifeNews.com on Monday they hope Republicans will side with Huckabee. The strength of Governor Huckabee’s public record on matters concerning the protection of human life and strong support among the organization’s grassroots members were key to making the decision, they said . “The beauty of a grassroots organization is that your members set the priorities,” the group's president Brian Harris said. “For pro-life Tennesseans, the election of a sincere, proven pro-life ...

NOW SUPPORTS PRO-DEATH OBAMA

And why shouldn't they? He's worse than Hillary! He is the strongest pro-death candidate out there. The democrats stand out as the party of death; there are some Republicans who support human life and others who don't. Duncan Hunter was my pick in the past, but now that he has bowed out of the race and endorsed Michael Huckabee, I, too, believe that Huckabee is the best choice for the presidential nomination. Hunter has stated that he believes that Mike Huckabee is the most committed of the GOP Presidential nominees to strengthening national defense, getting a fence built along the U.S.-Mexico border and dealing with China's role as an emerging economic and military superpower. He is certainly the strongest pro-life candidate (aside from Alan Keyes, who is a candidate, but really isn't.) Alan Keyes would definitely make a great president, but it is not realistic to think that he could ever be nominated or elected at this point in time. Neither McCain nor Romney are...

Grading the GOP on Family Value Issues

They are definitely marching to different drummers! Wonder where the GOP Presidential candidates stand on family issues? Campaign for Children and Families (who neither support nor oppose candidates for public office) provide us with the Report Card on the Natural Family to inform voters where the leading Republican presidential candidates stand on eight topics important to most Americans. “While all of the leading Republican candidates claim to embrace family values, they’re marching to different drummers on marriage rights, adoption, religious freedom, ‘hate crime’ laws, schoolchildren, and the ‘LGBT’ agenda,” said CCF President Randy Thomasson. Thomasson tells us that they are looking only at the Republican candidates and explains why. “According to the Human Rights Campaign , the leading Democratic candidates have already established records or made consistent statements in support of nearly all of the homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual agenda,” explains Thomasson, a registered ...
