It's Catholic Carnival time at the Pillars and Ebeth is showing her excitement and enthusiasm over The Holy Father's upcoming visit to the US tomorrow by posting some great shots of our "dear Papa" like the one above. Tausign, from Perfect Joy, who writes a wonderful meditation on the Way of the Cross . Teresa from Teresa's Two Cents writes a beautiful account of how she is passing on the way of the cross devotion to her son . I really enjoyed Heidi 's post on spending a day at the Toledo Zoo where she and Sarah R. get together with their children for a fun day. There are lots of cute baby and kid photos here. With tomorrow marking her and her husband's 15th wedding anniversary, Ebeth was excited to have a Valentine's Day carnival. However, it was not to be. Not one Valentine-themed post was submitted. They are all on Lent , which is really a great Valentine in itself. Lent is the time we become intimate with the Lord, who gave His love for us that we might share it with one another. However, I do feel for Ebeth, so let's all send her and her dear knight - in - shining armour a special Valentine's anniversary card to let her know we're thinking of them on their fifteenth anniversary and to encourage and support them in their love for one another. Happy 15th anniversary, Doug and Ebeth!

Be sure and read Heidi's post On Golden Pens and Empty Pockets at Silent Canticle. It is a must read for bloggers and writers.

There is a little of everything in this Catholic Carnival - from great information about Saints and Cardinals to incisive looks at our political culture today. Be sure to check it out at Living Catholicism hosted by Jay. A few of my favorite posts there include: 1. What is Wrong with Porn? at Aggie Catholics , which explores pornography addiction. This is becoming a huge problem, particularly in the US, and this post does a great job of exploring ways to resist as well as why it is a problem. 2. Holiness and Culture at HMS Blog reflects on the Mass Readings for last Sunday and how they relate to the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade on January 22. 3. Did You Hear a Pro-Life Homily Today? at Catholic Matriarch in My Domestic Church did hear a pro-life sermon. And it was more courageous (in our day and time) than we usually hear.
