Nevertheless, the Holy See revealed that the Pope gave Obama an “unannounced gift”--a Vatican document on bioethics and the right to life. "The G8 has been very productive, 20 billion dollars have been allocated [to poor countries]; that's something concrete," President Obama told the Pope when he asked about the summit, as photographers and journalists were ushered out of the Papal library. I wonder how much of that 20 billion dollars will be spent on "family planning" AKA birth control, forced abortions, etc. which in reality is actually given to Planned Parenthood for eugenics purposes? WASHINGTON -- Health and Human Services nominee Kathleen Sebelius recently corrected three years of tax returns and paid more than $7,000 in back taxes after finding "unintentional errors" — the latest tax troubles for an Obama administration nominee. The Kansas governor explained the changes to senators in a letter dated Tuesday that the administration released. Dawn Johnsen, nominee to head the White House Office of Legal Counsel, faces criticism from a pro-life group for her opposition to the federal partial-birth abortion ban and her comments characterizing pregnant mothers as “inevitable losers in the contraceptive lottery” and comparing pregnancy to slavery or being hit by a drunk driver. WASHINGTON – The top Republican on the Senate Budget Committee says the Obama administration is on the right course to save the nation's financial system. But Sen. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire also says President Barack Obama's massive budget proposal will bankrupt the country. Gregg says he has no regrets in withdrawing his nomination to become commerce secretary. He pulled out after deciding he could not fully back the administration's economic policies. The senator said Obama's spending plan in the midst of a prolonged recession would leave the next generation with a country too expensive to live in. Gregg appeared Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."

Birth control on college campuses soon could become less expensive because of a provision in the fiscal year 2009 federal budget bill President Obama signed recently, the Kansas City Star reports. The provision will reinstate incentives for pharmaceutical companies to discount contraceptives, which was lost when Medicaid reimbursement rules were changed under a deficit reduction law. Drug companies will not be required to offer the discounts, and schools will have to negotiate the prices. How wonderful! Birth control will be affordable! Americans don't have jobs and can barely afford groceries, don't have the money to pay their mortgages and are losing their homes, but there's plenty of money available to pay for abortifacients! Killing babies in the womb is a top priority for the Obama administration! I'm mad as H---- and I'm not going to take it anymore! B.O. -- you stink!

I have good memories of the American Legion. The organization's activities for young people played a pivotal role in the direction of my life. In High School I participated in both the Legion's National Oratorical Contest, and its Boys State and Boys Nation programs. Those experiences helped to cement my interest in America's political institutions, and what it takes to preserve our liberty.
