A Prayer for Veterans' Day

Image
We ask for blessings on all those who have served their country in the armed forces. We ask for healing for the veterans who have been wounded, in body and soul, in conflicts around the globe. We pray especially for the young men and women, in the thousands, who are coming home from Iraq with injured bodies and traumatized spirits. Bring solace to them, O Lord; may we pray for them when they cannot pray. We ask for, echoing John Paul II, an end to wars and the dawning of a new era of peace, As a way to honor all the veterans of past wars. Have mercy on all our veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Bring peace to their hearts and peace to the regions they fought in. Bless all the soldiers who served in non-combative posts; May their calling to service continue in their lives in many positive ways. Give us all the creative vision to see a world which, grown weary with fighting, Moves to affirming the life of every human being and so moves beyond war. Hear our prayer, O Prin...

Dictated by Our Lord, to release 1000 souls from purgatory each time it is said. Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son Jesus Christ, in union with the most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, said throughout the world today, for all the holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home, and within my family. 40 DAYS FOR LIFE: DAY 3, DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Image
SCRIPTURE: "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all long suffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life."-- 1 Timothy 1:15b-16 REFLECTION: As a post-abortive woman, I (Carmen Pate) made this my life verse following my brokenness before the Lord and the receiving of His forgiveness. This verse is a reminder to me that I must never waste God's mercy towards me, but instead allow Him to use meas an example of His love, His patience, and His amazing grace. The Apostle Paul was the first to identify himself as the "chief of sinners." Certainly, it is easy for us to point to his record of sins and understand why he would claim this label as his own. We may wonder silently if it might more appropriately be the label for the abortionist inside the clinic, or the Planned Parenthood counselors, or the NARAL activists....

A Prayer for the 'Weakest' Among Us

Image
Almighty God, this nation has always rejoiced in its welcome to the "tired, the poor, the rejected, and the huddled masses." The handicapped, the powerless, and the stranger have mightily enriched this land. Strengthen us to be faithful to our heritage. Renew in us a deep reverence for each precious human life. Inspire us to care for the weakest and the most vulnerable among us so that we may truly show to others the love you have shown to us. Bless those with troubled pregnancies; inspire them to chose life. Help us to care for and not destroy the aged and the handicapped. Grant the grace of conversion to those who are caught in the culture of death. Make us again a people and a nation dedicated to the truths that "all people are created equal and endowed with unalienable rights," the chief of which is the right to life. Amen.

PRAYER REQUEST

Please join me in praying the following prayer for my dh and for all those who are in need of full-time employment at this time: O Glorious Patriarch St. Joseph, whose power can render possible even things which are impossible, come to my aid in my present trouble and distress. Take under thy protection the important and difficult affairs which I entrust to thee, that they may end happily. Pause - petition My beloved Father, all my confidence is in thee. Let it not be said that I invoked thee in vain; and since though art able to obtain everything before Jesus and Mary, show me that thy goodness equals thy power. Amen. This can be used as novena prayer, too.

Today's Prayer Intentions

We long for the Lord to bless us and let His face shine upon us. With great confidence, we now pray: For the Holy Father, the Vicar of Christ on earth, that our politicians and clergy will respect and obey him, especially in the area of human life issues. For the conversion of the souls of those who are trapped in the culture of death and are determined to destroy human life. That all Christians pray and fast for an end to abortion and the sins against human life. For healing of a young woman who has a stage three melonoma. For Dave who has been diagnosed with stomach cancer and for his family. For A. who is being coerced into having an abortion by the father of her child, who refuses to consider adoption. For all women who are suffering from the trauma of an abortion that they will find the peace and the healing they need. For all previous prayer requests and for those mentioned around St. Blog's. Most merciful Father, let us love, not in word or speech, but in deed and truth thro...
