 President Obama told the National Prayer Breakfast this morning that “killing the innocent is never fulfilling God's will,” saying it is “the ultimate betrayal of God's will.” Arina Grossu, director of the Center for Human Dignity at the Family Research Council, called it “a tragedy that President Obama doesn't apply this same standard to the one million innocent Americans who die every year from the social injustice of abortion. All human life is sacred, valuable, and deserves to be protected, especially the littlest and most defenseless of humans.” My response: Listen to the words that are coming out of your mouth, Mr. President. On Tuesday the White House announced that President Barack Obama will meet with Pope Francis on March 27th. It won't the the first time the president visits Rome. He came back in July 2009 to meet with Benedict XVI at the Apostolic Palace. The White House says the president is looking forward to discussing issues like poverty and inequality with Pope Francis. Part of the agenda though, will likely include the controversial birth control mandate that's triggered tension and lawsuits  between the U.S Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Obama administration. The announcement comes just days after U.S Secretary of State, John Kerry met with his counterpart, Msgr. Pietro Parolin at the Vatican.

Marriage as the union of one man and one woman is the first foundation of a stable and healthy government. The federal Defense of Marriage Act affirms the commonsense definition of natural marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Same-sex unions would establish an irresponsible and dangerous policy that children do not need moms and dads. The Obama administration brief alleges that DOMA is discriminatory because it does not extend federal benefits to same-sex couples. President Obama and his Administration have been the most hostile in American history towards marriage and the family. Obama’s radical policies will undermine marriage and morality and ultimately will harm children and society. Obama’s advocacy of anti-family policies is shameful. Obama thinks he can get by with his deceptive abortion plan because we will stand by and do nothing. Well the "dictator" certainly has another thing coming. We cannot and we will not comply with this abortion mandate! The nations Catholic bishops took their time to evaluate the 70-plus pages of proposed revisions the Obama administration released on Friday concerning the HHS mandate. They say the proposed changes fail to adequately protect religious groups, telling LifeNews in a statement that they “shows some movement by the Administration” to rectify the issues associated with the mandate forcing coverage of birth control and abortion-causing drugs but they “fall short.” Read more.

General Stanley A. McChrystal, Commander of U.S. Forces in Afghanistan, is reportedly set to resign unless Barack Obama gets serious on the War in Afghanistan ("Obama's War"). McChrystal has informally sought to increase troop levels in Afghanistan. The general believes that the conflict is not winnable given the current troop strength. While the White House has now explained this remark as the president describing opponents of his health care debacle as agitated bed wetters, the truth is sobering—not silly. In fact, Obama’s opponents are perhaps a bit more honest than he would like; thus, the insults. Having said that, the worrying fact is that there are still an enormous number of well-meaning people, including Catholics, who simply do not want to see the truth about what is and is not contained in the various proposals currently floating around Congress. A pro-life nurse has won a victory for the conscience rights of health care providers at the Louisiana state Supreme Court which has sent her complaint over religious discrimination down the path towards a trial. The case being handled by the Alliance Defense Fund was brought on behalf of nurse Toni Lemly who had worked in the St. Tammany Parish Hospital, but sued when she objected to dispensing the "morning after" abortion pill because of her religious beliefs and was demoted. The hospital's lawyers sought to have her case dismissed out of hand, and when that attempt failed, went to the state Supreme Court to try to obtain that ruling. Phillip Berg Lawsuit Yesterday, I shared a link to to a video on Phillip Berg's lawsuit and received a comment asking why the mainstream media hadn't picked up on this yet.
