7 Planned Parenthood Clinics Shut Down

Seventy-two years ago Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger visited El Paso, Texas, delivered a speech proclaiming the need for the acceptance of birth control and helped found the city's first family clinic. But last week, Analinda Moreno, Planned Parenthood of El Paso's interim executive director, announced all seven of the organization's clinics in the El Paso area would permanently close today. She cited financial reasons. "There were many factors that came into the decision," Moreno told the El Paso Times. "We knew eight days ago that there was just absolutely no other way other than to close." Rita Diller, national director of the American Life League's Stop Planned Parenthood project, was encouraged by the closings, and sees them as part of a larger trend. "We expect many more closures in the days to come as people become aware of Planned Parenthood's sex-crazed birth control and abortion business," Diller said in a stat...

Sarasota, Florida Planned Parenthood Denied Govt Funds Now Does Abortions

Sarasota, FL (LifeNews.com) -- In October, county officials in Sarasota County in Florida cut thousands of dollars of funding to a local Planned Parenthood. Now, pro-life advocates say the facility has started doing abortions in what may be an attempt to generate more in annual income. Officials, citing poor economic conditions and the need to better balance the city budget, removed the second $12,500 of the original $25,000 allocated for Planned Parenthood family planning programs. Despite the efforts of dedicated pro-lifers in Sarasota, Planned Parenthood has opened its new abortion center and did abortions for the first time last Friday. Jim Sedlak, the head of STOPP International, a Planned Parenthood watchdog group, shed more light on the situation in an email to LifeNews.com. "Planned Parenthood was met by a group of pro-lifers who are dedicated to be present whenever babies are scheduled to die," he said. Full story at LifeNews.com

VICTORY: PLANNED PARENTHOOD OUT OF TEXAS PANHANDLE

STOPP PLAN OUSTS NATION'S LARGEST ABORTION CHAIN FROM AMARILLO Washington, D.C. (22 December 2008) – American Life League and the Diocese of Amarillo scored a major victory this week as Planned Parenthood prepares to completely withdraw from the Texas Panhandle. Using American Life League's STOPP project to defeat Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion chain has been completely eradicated from the diocese of Amarillo, Texas."Once again we see that the STOP Planned Parenthood plan works – even on a grand scale," said Jim Sedlak, vice president of American Life League and director of the STOPP project. "We have been honored to work closely with Bishop John Yanta, Respect Life Coordinator Rita Diller, and all those in the Amarillo Diocese who, since 1997, have worked towards the day when Planned Parenthood would no longer exist in the Texas Panhandle. Through the grace of God, that day will come next week." In 1997, Planned Parenthood operated 19...

INDIANA RESIDENTS CALL FOR INVESTIGATION AFTER PP RAPE COVER-UP

American Life League 's STOP Planned Parenthood project head Jim Sedlak will join Indianapolis Right to Life, 40 days for Life – Indianapolis and Voice of the Innocents Dec. 13 in a 9:30 a.m. press conference and Empty Manger event outside Planned Parenthood of Indianapolis to ask Indiana Attorney General Steve Carter to launch an investigation of the organizations violation of state law. The event comes only a week after a video investigation launched by UCLA student group, Live Action Films, revealed that a Planned Parenthood counselor in Bloomington, Indiana advised a girl posing as a 13-year-old to lie about the 31-year-old man who raped her and sent her away for a secret abortion in Illinois. Indiana residents are requesting an investigation into the organization's guidance practices and statutory rape claims in its 35 affiliates around the state. "We have much reason to believe that the children of Indiana are in grave danger thanks to money-making agenda of Planned ...

The Evils of Planned Parenthood; What You Can Do to Stop Them

Image
By Jean M. Heimann This past weekend I had the wonderful opportunity of attending the Right to Life of Kansas conference and heard the well-known and highly esteemed executive director of STOPP International and the Vice President of American Life League , Jim Sedlak , deliver the key note address at the banquet. I would like to share some of his ideas from that talk, which I have put into my own words. Babies being Murdered in Mass Numbers Every two minutes a baby dies somewhere in a Planned Parenthood abortion facility in the US. In 2006, there were 289,750 abortions at Planned Parenthood – in other words – a little over a quarter of a millions babies died. 5,000 babies per week die at Planned Parenthood. To put this number into perspective, let’s look at the horrific tragedy that took place in the US on September 11, 2001. On that day, 3000 innocent human lives were taken by terrorists, and our country rightfully mourned their deaths. Everyday in the US, 5,000 babies’ lives are ta...

Federal Children's Health Program Partners with Planned Parenthood

Washington, D.C. (29 July 2008) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Women, Infants and Children program, designed to provide needy moms and young children with nutritious foods and health care referrals, is referring those same moms and kids to Planned Parenthood. "It is absolutely outrageous that the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program that WIC sponsors would refer mothers to the nation's largest abortion chain for health care," Jim Sedlak, vice president of American Life League said. "Planned Parenthood kills more children than any other single organization in the country. How can a program for children associate with it?" The WIC Learning Online Web site links to Planned Parenthood Federation of America as a "participant referral." Planned Parenthood received over $336 million in taxpayer funding in 2007 alone, with an overall profit of $115 million. Sedlak says this Planned Parenthood partnership with a program designed for children is j...

YouTube yanks ALL video; keeps PP video

Image
" On Monday morning, American Life League (ALL) was informed by YouTube that one of its exposé videos on Planned Parenthood was evicted from their for its 'inappropriate nature.' Strangely enough, the ad that the ALL was criticizing remains on YouTube." "It is outrageous that YouTube would black-out our video warning the public about a Planned Parenthood sex video while it continues to carry the original Planned Parenthood video,” said Jim Sedlak, vice president of American Life League. The “inappropriate nature” cited by YouTube management is the very same centerpiece of a publicly aired Planned Parenthood television advertising campaign which is still being hosted by YouTube as of Monday afternoon and has not been flagged. “Such duplicitous acts cannot go unchallenged. We’ve let them know we will not be silent. We have already filed a complaint with the online service and will do whatever we can to see that this discriminatory action is overturned by YouTube...
