Wichita, KS — Operation Rescue led a candlelight prayer vigil outside the nations’s largest late-term abortion mill, Women’s Health Care Services, on the 36th memorial of Roe v. Wade. As about 150 pro-lifers gathered for prayer, double the number from the previous year, troubled abortionist George Tiller slipped out the gate and headed off for home. “In previous years, Tiller has posted defiant banners, held rallies, even offered free abortions. Bolton, by which the highest court of our nation took away the safeguard of the most fundamental of all rights, the right to life, from the most vulnerable members of the human family, the unborn. Rightly, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has, for some time, designated this day as a Day of Penance for Violations to the Dignity of the Human Person, and of Prayer for the Full Restoration of the Legal Guarantee of the Right to Life. January 22nd is to be observed “as a particular day of penance for violations to the dignity of the human person committed through acts of abortion, and of prayer for the full restoration of the legal guarantee of the right to life” (General Instruction of the Roman Missal, no. 373). It's in the 30's now, but is supposed to get up in the 50's today. I am thinking...how happy I was that I went to bed earlier than usual last night and was actually able to get to sleep at that time, so I could have more time to get things done today. I am thankful for...the good weather and the extra sleep. From the kitchen...I can still smell the Hoppin' John and the corn bread from supper last night, which I am planning to heat up and serve again tonight. It was delicious!
