It Sounds Like a Miracle to Me

Fox News: Experts are grappling with how a New York City window washer miraculously survived a plunge from a 47-story high-rise that killed his brother, the New York Post reported Sunday. Doctors and physicists said the stunning fall suffered by Alcides Moreno, 37, would have normally meant sure death, but that the 125 mph descent was possibly blunted by random air currents rising between the city's tall buildings and by an aluminum platform he clung to while falling hundreds of feet, the Post reported. St. Januarius, the Miracle Saint

Image
St. Januarius is said to have been born in Naples and to have been bishop of Beneventum (just east of Naples), who, with his companions, suffered martyrdom in the persecution of Diocletian at Naples in 303. They were first thrown to the lions in the arena, but none of the beasts would attack them, so they were beheaded. The people of the city prayed to him to help them, and the flow of lava stopped. But the enduring fervor for this saint of the volcanoes is rooted in an inexplicable event known as “the miracle of the liquefaction.” St. Januarius is the main patron saint of Naples and is celebrated there on three feast days each year. The blood is made to "work" six times on each of these three days. It consists of a dark solid mass and is held in a gl...

Cosmos-Liturgy-Sex posts on Michael Glatze, the founding editor of Young Gay America magazine who now says "coming out’ from under the influence of the homosexual mindset was the most liberating, beautiful and astonishing thing I’ve ever experienced in my entire life." Via: The Curt Jester. My Comments: A few weeks ago I was actually looking for a conversion story like this, but couldn't find one (at least not on the Internet search at that time). I kept feeling like God was answering my prayers for the conversion of those living in the "culture of death" and that I would actually be able to see the results soon. Although many are drawn to the light it is not often that we see the results of our prayer, but here is one powerful and precious miracle for all of us who have been persistent in our prayer life to rejoice in.
