As I mentioned in a previous post , the Obama Administration has taken action to rescind a vital conscience protection regulation implemented recently by the Department of Health and Human Services under the previous Administration.This is a frontal attack on pro-life health care and the bishops are united in fighting in defense of conscience rights and religious liberty. The public has only until Thursday, April 9 to post their comments in support of the conscience protection regulation...and the USCCB is trying to make it as easy as possible for them to do so. It appears the Senate will likely vote on a pro-life amendment to cut federal funding of Planned Parenthood early next week. The vote will likely occur on either Monday or Tuesday as the Senate continues its debate on the omnibus spending bill that also funds the nation's largest abortion business. Senate leaders today agreed to allow votes on several Republican-sponsored amendments to the omnibus spending bill next week. Among those is an amendment sponsored by pro-life Sen. David Vitter of Louisiana prevent taxpayers from having their money sent from the federal government to Planned Parenthood. President Barack Obama on Friday reversed the Mexico City Policy, which means U.S. tax dollars now will fund international groups that perform or promote abortions. On Wednesday, "President Obama issued executive orders banning the torture of terrorists but today signed an order that exports the torture of unborn children around the world," said Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council. The Mexico City Policy was put in place by President Ronald Reagan, reversed by President Bill Clinton and reinstated by President George W. Bush. In an accompanying statement, Obama said he would also work with Congress to restore U.S. funding support for the United Nations Population Fund — which lost its funding under Bush because of its participation in China's forced abortion and sterilization policy. I haven't blogged on the PJ Myers case because the whole thing has sickened me to the max. I have however, linked to The Curt Jester and Jimmy Akin who have done a great job of reporting on the willful and violent desecration of the Holy Eucharist by this bigoted Professor at University of Minnesota. However, I believe I would be neglectful in my duties if I didn't say something about this unholy event. PJ Myers is obviously an attention-seeking individual who enjoys doing hurtful things to God and to others, especially Catholics.
