Cardinal Burke: No Communion for Nancy Pelosi and Pro-Abortion Politicians

Image
I certainly agree with Cardinal Burke on this. It only makes sense. However, I will continue to lift up Nancy Pelosi and her colleagues in my daily prayers for their conversion and the salvation of their souls. Catholics and pro-life advocates of other religious persuasions have wondered for years why House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, who has been an ardent abortion activist for years, continues to receive communion. In a new interview with The Wanderer, a Catholic newspaper, Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura in Rome, sheds light on Pelosi and communion. He issues a call for pro-abortion politicians to be denied the sacrament — saying that Catholic Canon law must be applied to them. From the interview: Q. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, when recently questioned at a press briefing about the moral difference between what Dr. Gosnell did in murdering a baby born alive at 23 weeks as compared to the practice of aborti...

Pro-life Quote of the Day: Response to Nancy Pelosi

Image
In response to Nancy Pelosi's comments earlier today , Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of the Susan B. Anthony List, made the following remarks: “As a mother and practicing Catholic, I have a modest proposal for Mrs. Pelosi: that she consider the Church's teaching which says each life is sacred and reject the idea that each abortion is.“ H/T: Creative Minority Report

Nancy Pelosi: Issue of late-term abortions is ‘sacred ground’

Image
Here we go again. As usual , Nancy is confused regarding  what the Catholic Church teaches about abortion and continues to confuse and scandalize the public by both her words and actions. Praying that she will come to know the Truth, live the Truth, and speak the Truth. WASHINGTON, D.C., June 13, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In response to a question today from a reporter about a late-term abortion ban that is being proposed in Congress, Democratic Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that the issue of late-term abortion is "sacred ground" for her. Nancy, it is not just late-term abortion, but ALL abortions that are considered murder, abortifacients included. ALL human life is sacred, from conception to death. "As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this," Pelosi said. "This shouldn't have anything to do with politics." Those who support and vote for abortion are NOT practising Catholics. They hav...

Obamacare: Abortion's Trojan Horse

Catholic Charities USA, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and the Catholic Health Association have all thrown their weight behind Obama's push for health care reform. In response, American Life League exposes the Trojan Horse hidden in the bill that opens the way for abortion, calling on Catholics to demand that the bill be scrapped!

Dr. Alveda King to Join Other African American Leaders to Demand Abortion be Excluded from Health Care Bill

Image
Dr. Alveda King, Pastoral Associate of Priests for Life and niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., will join with other African American leaders Monday at 10:00 AM in front of the Cannon House Office Building to demand that abortion and Planned Parenthood be excluded from any health care reform legislation. "Our message is clear – abortion is neither health care nor a benefit. It's genocide," said Dr. King. "Give us procreative reproductive rights. Repair our communities with life affirming programs. My fellow civil rights workers and I will be on Capitol Hill to say that if President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, or anyone else truly wants to reduce the number of abortions, they will not coerce Americans to pay for them and they will not subsidize Planned Parenthood, the billion-dollar business that has killed more black children than the KKK." ~ Via Christian Newswire.

A Pro-Life Prayer for Our President and Public Officials

Image
Lord God, Author of Life and Source of Eternal Life, move the hearts of all our public officials and especially our President, to fulfill their responsibilities worthily and well to all those entrusted to their care. Help them in their special leadership roles, to extend the mantle of protection to the most vulnerable, especially the defenseless unborn, whose lives are threatened with extermination by an indifferent society. Guide all public officials by your wisdom and grace to cease supporting any law that fails to protect the fundamental good that is human life itself, which is a gift from God and parents. You are the Protector and Defender of the lives of the innocent unborn. Change the hearts of those who compromise the call to protect and defend life. Bring our nation to the values that have made us a great nation, a society that upholds the values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all. Mary, the Mother of the living, help us to bear witness to the Gospel of Life...

CINO, Pro-abort Kmiec Criticizes Holy Father

WASHINGTON D.C. - Professor Douglas Kmiec, the scholar who provided a justification for allowing Catholics to vote for Barack Obama, despite the president's consistent pro-abortion track record, wrote last week on Time Magazine's website that Pope Benedict XVI's words to Nancy Pelosi were "intrusive" in legal matters, because they put the whole judicial system in an impossible moral dilemma. Article What can we expect from someone who has excommunicated himself from the faith? I won't say any more about this because this man's moronic words aren't worth my time. He is a disgrace to the Catholic Community!

Pelosi and the Pope...What really happened

Fox News: Pelosi, Pope Have No Meeting of the Minds George Weigel's Account: Were They at the Same Meeting? I especially like this part of what George Weigel has to say about Nancy: As her performance on Meet the Press prior to last year’s Democratic national convention made painfully clear, Pelosi is deeply confused about what her church teaches on the morality of abortion, and why. She may have come to her bizarre views on her own; it’s far more likely that she has been un-catechized, so to speak, by Catholic intellectuals and clerics who find Catholic teaching on life issues an embarrassment among their high-minded friends and colleagues of the progressive persuasion. Whatever the source of her confusion, Pelosi has now been informed, and by a world-class intellectual who happens to be the universal pastor of the Catholic Church , that she is, in fact, confused, and that both her spiritual life and her public service are in jeopardy because of that. My favorite fictional and fu...

Pope Strongly Rebukes Pelosi over Abortion

Via CNA: House speaker Nancy Pelosi’s photo-op with Pope Benedict XVI turned sour when the Pontiff used the 15-minute meeting to reaffirm the teachings of the Catholic Church on the right to life and the duty to protect the unborn. No photo of Nancy Pelosi and the Pope will be forthcoming, since the meeting was closed to reporters and photographers. The two met in a small room in the Vatican just after the Pope's weekly public audience. Immediately after the meeting, the Holy See’s press office released a statement saying, "following the general audience the Holy Father briefly greeted Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, together with her entourage." "His Holiness took the opportunity to speak of the requirements of the natural moral law and the Church's consistent teaching on the dignity of human life from conception to natural death which enjoin all Catholics, and especially legislators, jurists and those responsible for the ...

Nationwide Petition Launched to Deny Communion to Pelosi, Biden, and other Pro-aborts

Image
Pewsitter.com February 17, 2009 – As Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi prepares to meet with Pope Benedict tomorrow in Rome, stateside, a nationwide petition project has been launched requesting the Catholic Bishops of the United States to withhold Communion from her and other prominent Catholics in public life that obstinately persist in their dissent from Catholic teaching on serious moral issues. This nationwide Withholding Communion petition is being launched by Pewsitter.com, a Catholic News Portal. The goal of the petition drive is to gather a least 1 million petitions for presentation to the U.S. Bishops and the Vatican. The basis for withholding communion is Canon 915, which stipulates that those "obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion." Archbishop Burke, the head of the Church's highest court reiterated his view on this subject in a recent interview with LifeSite News dated January 30, 2009, in which he stated, ...

A.L.L.'S JUDIE BROWN HOPES TO SEE PELOSI IN CONFESSION LINE

Washington, D.C. (17 February 2009) – The following is a statement from Judie Brown, president of American Life League on the Wednesday meeting between U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Pope Benedict XVI. "The only photo-op I hope to see out of Rep. Pelosi's meeting with the Holy Father Wednesday is the House Speaker in the Confessional line. Pelosi's adamant support for abortion and the anti-life agenda of the American left is utterly incompatible with her self-described 'ardent' Catholicism. Pelosi has been defiant toward the admonitions of the American bishops; has misrepresented Catholic teaching on the question of when the human being's life begins and is a rabid supporter of abortifacient contraception. It is our prayer that the words of the Holy Father resound in Pelosi's ears and open her heart to the great evil she is helping inflict on the United States:'How can it be that the most wondrous and sacred human space - the wom...

Deal Hudson: What the Pope Doesn't Know about Nancy Pelosi

Image
This week, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will meet with Pope Benedict XVI in the Vatican. With the debilitating illness of Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Pelosi has become the de facto leader of dissident Catholic members of Congress. It's only appropriate that Pelosi should take Kennedy's place. When she became Speaker in January 2006, she chose Rev. Robert Drinan, S.J., as the celebrant of the Mass held in her honor. The late Father Drinan, a longtime professor of law at Georgetown University, had been the architect of the arguments now used as cover by Catholic politicians who wish to dodge the abortion issue. This effort began in 1964 , when Father Drinan was among a small group of theologians who visited Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, to school the Kennedy clan on how to finesse the abortion issue in politics. Nancy Pelosi's Latest Lie: Updated

PELOSI SAYS BIRTH CONTROL WILL HELP ECONOMY Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi boldly defended a move to add birth control funding to the new economic "stimulus" package, claiming "contraception will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government." Pelosi, the mother of 5 children and 6 grandchildren, who once said, "Nothing in my life will ever, ever compare to being a mom," seemed to imply babies are somehow a burden on the treasury. The revelation came during an exchange Sunday morning on ABC's THIS WEEK. STEPHANOPOULOS: Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services. How is that stimulus? PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children's health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those - one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraceptio...

The Curt Jester's Responding to Nancy Pelosi provides some satisfaction to the confusion she created on Meet The Press. American Papist asks the question we want to know: How will Pelosi respond? (I'm wondering what crazy story she'll concoct next? As long as it corresponds to the Democratic pro-death agenda, she'll be OK with it. Who cares how ridiculous and outlandish it is? No one has the expert knowledge about the faith that she does after studying it so diligently.)
