In his Monday morning Mass, Pope Francis explained that one shouldn't use the name of God as a shield in times of trouble. In his Homily, the Pope talks about the betrayal King David feels when his son betrays him. But despite the pain, he chooses a realistic approach, asking for forgiveness and trusting the Lord. POPE FRANCIS "He's a man who loves God and his people and he's not willing to compromise either. A man who knows he's a sinner, but repents. A man who is confident in God and trusts Him.” The Pope then added that Christians should ask for the grace of trusting God in both the good times and the bad. SUMMARY OF POPE'S HOMILY (Source: Vatican Radio) In his homily, Pope Francis continued his reflections on King David, who in today’s reading, flees because his son Absalom betrays him . Speaking of the story taken from the Second Book of Samuel, the Pope says David is sad because "even the people" supported his son against their ki...

None of the attendees wanted to miss a moment as Pope Francis celebrated Mass at the Sacred Heart Parish on Sunday. During his homily, he spoke about the key to success in life. POPE FRANCIS "Many times, we trust a doctor: It's good because a doctor heals us. We trust in a person: brothers and sisters are there to help us. It's good to have this human trust, among us. But we forget about the trust in the Lord: this is the key to success in life.” The joyful ceremony was punctuated at times with the Pope's native Spanish. Among the guests, were many young people, and so Pope Francis addressed them specifically. POPE FRANCIS "Listen closely you, boys and girls, who are at the start of your lives: Jesus never disappoints. Never. Listen to what John says: Jesus, is kind, gentle, and will end as a lamb, slaughtered, without protesting. He came to save us, to take away our sins. Yours, mine, and from the entire world. All of them.” Citing the day's read...

January 10, 2014 During his daily morning Mass, Pope Francis said it saddens him to see so called part time Christians...those who memorize prayers, but don't feel connected to the words. POPE FRANCIS "There are so many Christians with a watered down faith, a faith that's not strong. Their hope is weak. Why? Why don't they have the strength and courage to trust the Lord?” Pope Francis explained that part of trusting God comes with understanding one's personal weaknesses. Just like the sick did with Jesus. They understood that they could only be healed by Him. SUMMARY OF POPE'S MASS (Source: Vatican Radio) "Faith makes all things possible,” but we must place our trust completely in God. This was the central focus of Pope Francis’ remarks following the readings of the day at Mass on Friday morning in the chapel of the Casa Santa Marta in the Vatican. Pope Francis concentrated especially on the 1st Letter of St John, in which he speaks of t...

June 28, 2013. (Romereports.com) During his daily morning Mass at the Vatican, Pope Francis talked about patience. He called on Christians to trust God and His mysterious ways. Sometimes God intervenes in one's life immediately, he explained, but other times, the virtue of patience is needed. POPE FRANCIS “The Lord takes his time. But even He, in this relationship with us, has a lot of patience. We too have to show patience: He has it! He waits for us! And He waits for us until the end of our life! Think of the good thief, right at the end, at the very end, he acknowledged God. The Lord walks with us, but often does not reveal Himself, as in the case of the disciples of Emmaus. The Lord is involved in our lives - that's for sure! - But often we do not see this. This calls for our patience. But the Lord who walks with us, also has a lot of patience with us.'” Before ending, he highlighted that just like the Lord is patient, Christians too, have to show patience wit...

June 20, 2013. (Romereports.com) The 'Our Father' prayer was the focus of the Pope's homily during his daily Mass at the Vatican. Pope Francis said that prayer is not some kind of magic spell. He explained that it's about putting one's trust in God. He alone, said the Pope, understands one's needs. POPE FRANCIS “No, you cannot pray with enemies in your heart, with brothers and enemies in your heart, you cannot pray. This is difficult, yes, it is difficult, not easy. 'Father, I cannot say Father, I cannot'. It’s true, I understand. 'I cannot say our, because he did this to me and this ...' I cannot! 'They must go to hell, right? I will have nothing to do with them'. It’s true, it is not easy. But Jesus has promised us the Holy Spirit: it is He who teaches us, from within, from the heart, how to say 'Father' and how to say 'our'. Today we ask the Holy Spirit to teach us to say 'Father' and to be able to say ...
