The Top Three Reasons to March for Life

Image
This week, America memorializes the 57 million innocent lives lost to abortion since January 22, 1973, when the U.S. Supreme Court imposed abortion on all 50 states through the unjust Roe v. Wade decision. We also remember the many mothers — and fathers — whose lives have been devastated by abortion. In the following video, National Director of 40 Days for Life David Bereit shares the Top Three Reasons to ‎March for Life‬. Be sure to share this with others. Thank you! Here is a listing of all the places 40 Days for Life will be.

Abortion Opponents Launch Massive Grassroots Mobilization in 212 Cities

Starting tomorrow, and continuing through November 1, tens of thousands of faithful people in 212 cities -- across 45 American states, five Canadian provinces, and Denmark -- will conduct a unified 40-day campaign of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion, peaceful vigils outside abortion facilities and Planned Parenthood offices, and grassroots community organizing," said David Bereit, national director of 40 Days for Life. 40 Days for Life is a pro-life initiative that burst onto the national scene just two years ago and has already mobilized more than 215,000 people in 240 cities across all 50 American states and several other countries during four previous coordinated campaigns, saving 1,561 lives from abortion. This fall's 40 Days for Life campaign, the group's largest to date, will be the most widespread and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history. Dozens of the largest pro-life and pro-family organizations and many prominent religious leaders, in...

All of us are urged to prepare appropriately for that weekly Easter that comes with each Sunday.” Ash Wednesday, Good Friday Canon 1251: “Abstinence from eating meat or another food according to the prescriptions of the conference o...

Catholic Carnival 195 is up!

Image
Christine at A Catholic View is this week's hostess and she has done a terrific job! Here are a few of my favorite posts there: Loretta from Island Breezes shares "Father Elijah" - Prophetic? , --which contains an article from American Thinker that proposes what changes Americans and the world may be in for and she suggests that "Father Elijah", the novel by Michael O'Brien , discusses the same theme. Seth from Catholicland! reminds us that 40 days for Life is still going on. He shares his reflections after praying at the 40 DFL vigil. Seminarian Matthew from A Catholic Life give us some good information for the election and reminds us to Vote November 4th . Sarah from just another day of Catholic pondering shares two wonderful posts: Big Day , which is a reflection on marriage in preparation for a family wedding and from Behold your Mother, Mary Moments: Rosary Edition , which is The October Mary Moments carnival focused on the rosary, and is a compi...

Great News: Mother and Child Saved at Tiller's

PTL! Just look what our prayers and fasting can do! The situation I reported on yesterday at Tiller's and requested prayers for has resulted in saving the life of the baby and the soul of the mother (and perhaps her life, too.) Kansas Coalition for Life shares the story here . Thanks be to God for our wonderful prayer warriors and sidewalk counselors, who are allowing God to work through them.

Abortion Survivor May Have Saved Life

I received this information via email, which was sent to me late last night, from Mark Gietzen, Kansas Coalition for Life: On October 1, at 6:20 pm, KCFL on-site volunteer, Brandi Lozier, called from the gate of the Tiller Late-term abortion facility in Wichita, KS, and said that Edna Roach, an employee of Abortionist Tiller, came into Tiller's parking lot at a high rate of speed, carrying a distressed abortion client. According to Brandi, as Edna slowed down enough to make the corner at Tiller's gate, she, Brandi, could see a Caucasian lady - laying-back in the front seat on the passenger side of Edna's car. (This client was likely being transported from a hotel room, where she was waiting to deliver an already-dead baby. Routinely, late-term babies are killed by injection on Tuesdays at Tiller’s late-term abortion facility – but usually do not deliver until Thursday or Friday.) Edna proceeded to the front door of Tiller's building, and began blowing her car horn repea...

Bella's Eduardo Verastegui joins 40 Days for Life

From CNA : Eduardo Verastegui, the Mexican actor who starred in the movie “Bella,” joined pro-life sidewalk counselors and prayerful demonstrators at a Los Angeles abortion clinic on Saturday as he counseled women to turn away from aborting their unborn children. Many of the demonstrators were present at the Family Planning Associates abortion clinic as part of the 40 Days for Life campaign. Acording to John Anthony, Coordinator of 40 Days for Life in L.A.: Verastegui spent time in prayer and counseled and encouraged women to keep their babies, acting with “love, tenderness, humility and compassion.” “Five babies were saved that morning!” “Prayer and love in action were key and beautifully exemplified by all present.” From LifeSite News : He (Eduardo) said, "You wanna hear something really, really funny? Here's what happened at the end. All the nurses from the clinic - some were African Americans, some were Latinas - came outside." The next thing Eduardo Verastegui knew...

40 Days for Life Begins Today

Image
Forty Days for Life , a community-based pro-life group, kicks off their campaign of prayer, fasting, and presence today. According to the group’s website: Forty Days for Life takes a determined, peaceful approach to showing local communities the consequences of abortion in their own neighborhoods, for their own friends and families. It puts into action a desire to cooperate with God in the carrying out of his plan for the end of abortion in America. The 40-day campaign tracks biblical history, where God used forty-day periods to transform individuals, communities . . . and the entire world. From Noah in the flood to Moses on the mountain to the disciples after Christ’s resurrection, it is clear that God sees the transformative value of his people accepting and meeting a forty-day challenge. PRE-KICKOFF INTENTION: For God’s blessing upon all participating in the fall 2008 40 Days for Life campaign. Find More from Musings from a Catholic Bookstore. Marcel LeJeune from Texas A&M has a...
