Jill Stanek: Blago Blabs

Image
I, for one, am eager to hear what Blago has to say -- especially about Obama, Planned Parenthood, and other corrupt politicians, who should be indicted along with him. On WLS talk radio's Don and Roma's Show in Chicago today, former Gov. Rod Blagojevich started to let loose about IL political carnal knowledge. Rest assured, if he gets indicted, he's going to blab. And even if not, it appears he's planning to write a book. And, oh, what a book that will be, because the sorts of things Blagojevich got caught for is normal behavior for so many politicians, and not just in IL, as he revealed he knows this morning. He gets sidetracked once, but keep reading... Blagojevich: When all is worked out appropriately, I expect to be bigger voice than I've ever been. And in the meantime I still want to be a voice. I want to point out the phoniness and hypocrisy of how government works.... Roma: That calls for your book. This is another example of the reason you could put togeth...

Unanimous Vote: Blago Thrown Out of Office

Image
Gov. Rod Blagojevich was thrown out of office Thursday without a single lawmaker coming to his defense, brought down by a government-for-sale scandal that stretched from Chicago to Capitol Hill and turned the foul-mouthed politician into a national punchline. Blagojevich, accused of trying to sell Barack Obama's vacant Senate seat, becomes the first U.S. governor in more than 20 years to be removed by impeachment. After a four-day trial, the Illinois Senate voted 59-0 to convict him of abuse of power, automatically ousting the second-term Democrat. In a second, identical vote, lawmakers further barred Blagojevich from ever holding public office in the state again. Article Thanks be to God! Now, if he would just take his (former) best friend Barack Hussein Obama with him... then I think even Heaven would be ready to party.

BLAGO WINS: Senate 'plans to accept' Burris for vacancy

Image
WASHINGTON (CBS) ― Senate appointee Roland Burris met with top Senate Democrats Wednesday, who seemed to do an about-face from the vocal opposition they expressed last week about his appointment. Roland Burris is back from Washington, and Gov. Rod Blagojevich's pick to replace Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate says the only thing he regrets is not taking the oath with the newest members of the 111th Congress. "We don't anticipate any type of roadblock once the procedures are done," Burris said. Read the entire article. We shall see how this plays out in the days ahead. It's amazing that someone (Blago) so openly crooked can remain in office, but that's (Chicago) IL politics for you. Defiant Governor Rod Blagojevich fills Obama's Seat

A defiant Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Tuesday named a black political trailblazer to Barack Obama's Senate seat, a surprise move that put the governor's opponents in the uncomfortable position of trying to block his choice from becoming the Senate's only black member. Blagojevich's appointment of former state Attorney General Roland Burris injected race into the drama surrounding the embattled governor, who repeatedly sought to distance his selection from charges that he tried to sell the seat to the highest bidder. This is a typical move on the part of Governor B. and doesn't surprise me one bit. He is one of the "untouchables", isn't he? Related: Blagojevich snubs Senate, taps Burris for seat

IL Governor Blagojevich arrested on Federal Charges

~ Via DJJOS. Gov. Rod Blagojevich and his chief of staff, John Harris, were arrested today by FBI agents for what U.S. Atty. Patrick Fitzgerald called a "staggering" level of corruption involving pay-to-play politics in Illinois' top office. Blagojevich is accused of a wide-ranging criminal conspiracy , including alleged attempts by the governor to try to sell or trade the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by President-elect Barack Obama in exchange for financial benefits for the governor and his wife. Blagojevich also is accused of obtaining campaign contributions in exchange for other official actions. Blagojevich was taken into federal custody at his North Side home this morning--one day shy of his 52nd birthday. At a news conference late this morning, Fitzgerald said Blagojevich "has taken us to a truly new low" and went on "a political corruption crime spree. We acted to stop that crime spree." Fitzgerald also accused Blagojevich of attempting "to...
