As Cardinals fans, my husband and I spent part of this past weekend watching the Royals - Cardinals game on TV. However, we didn't realize that a culture war was taking place behind the scenes. Via Creative Minority Report : The Royals were supposed to host "Right to Life" Night at the ballpark when Missouri Right to Life bought up 300 tickets to a game last week as a fundraiser. The Royals put up a link on their website to encourage people to buy tickets to "Right to life" night. And the link which read "come cheer on the Royals as they play the St. Louis Cardinals and support the Missouri Right to Life" was getting clicks and selling tickets but then...someone was offended! Someone from the office of some stupid state senator (Missouri State Senator Jolie Justus) called to complain. And the Royals buckled and removed the link from their website. Read the rest.

Faithful Catholics in the US have been both stunned and gratified by the recent show of episcopal strength in dealing with the heretical nonsense of "Catholics" in public life who clearly misrepresent the Church's teaching on vital issues. To date, more than fifty bishops have spoken out about this kind of misconduct or issued guidelines about voting at this critical juncture in our nation's history. The trend is truly heartening. Let's pray that it continues! Much more could be done, of course, but I am grateful that more bishops are standing up to strengthen and protect the faith of millions. Many have been longing for this show of valor from our fathers in the faith - and yes, they are our spiritual fathers. When they are strong, we are strong; and when they are weak - the flock is ravaged by wolves. A few bishops deserve special mention. A good example is Bishop Jaime Soto of Sacramento, CA, who stood up before the misnamed "Catholic Gay and Lesbian"...

On October 10, the National Right to Life Committee announced the ABC Radio Network had refused to run the audio version of the following anti-Obama ad during the Sean Hannity radio show. NRLC reported ABC emailed that the ad, "while supporting aspects of a Pro-Life position, weighs more heavily toward electioneering." Well duh. It is indeed an electioneering ad, paid for by NRLC's Political Action Committee, the function of which is to electioneer, allowed under federal law. So today LifeNews.com reported that ABC Chicago is refusing to air the ad below by Caring Outreach : Jean Synovic, a representative of the Caring Outreach, tells LifeNews.com that ABC, without citing any scientific or medical sources, claimed that the images used in the commercial were not that of an unborn child at 85 days gestation, as the ad states.
