Grand Jury Fails to Charge Tiller

Via Operation Rescue: The citizen-called grand jury that investigated late-term abortionist George R. Tiller was dismissed without issuing an indictment. Operation Rescue President Troy Newman released this statement concerning the grand jury: "We are extremely disappointed that this grand jury did not indict Tiller for committing illegal abortions. Our own research proves that viable babies up until the moment of birth are being wrongly and illegally killed by Tiller and his cohorts under the misuse of a mental health exception that was not written into the law, but forced upon it by a pro-abortion former attorney general. "Once again, we are suspicious that corrupt influences in the government, which have been influenced by Tiller's large financial involvement in Kansas politics, may have thwarted justice once again. "We will not stop seeking justice for the innocent victims of Tiller's late-term barbaric practice, and will continue to exercise every legal ave...

Tiller's Trial Just Days Away, But Will There Be Justice?

Cheryl Sullenger of Operation Rescue poses this question along with many in Kansas due to the obstructive actions of the Attorney General’s office that have recently been revealed in the Planned Parenthood criminal case. Many of us are concerned that the Tiller case may not be honestly prosecuted based upon the past actions of the justice system. The Facts: Wichita, Kansas abortionist George Tiller, is scheduled to stand trial on June 16, 2008, on 19 criminal misdemeanor counts of committing illegal late-term abortions by violating the second unaffiliated physician clause in the Kansas ban on post viability abortions. Former Attorney General Paul Morrison was forced to resign last June after news broke of his involvement in a sex and abortion corruption scandal. Morrison had attempted to persuade his illicit lover to spy on investigations against Tiller and Planned Parenthood for the purpose of derailing those investigations. Pro-abortion Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, then appointed fellow D...

Corruption in KS under Governor Kathleen Sebelius Revealed at Last!

Everyone's talking about it throughout the blogosphere. I knew this day was bound to come when I first began blogging about the corruption here in KS about three years ago. It existed long before I moved here, but hopefully, won't continue, now that it has been publicly exposed on a national level. I am so thankful to Operation Rescue and Kansans for Life for exposing the evil and bringing it into the light. Dennis Boyle of the National Review refers to it as "machine politics" in his article "Supremely Wrong." Here's how he describes it: Machine politics is generally associated with cities, the cynical cronyism that is the prerequisite to wholesale corruption and urban decay. But these days it’s at its worst in, of all places, Kansas, under the governorship of leading Democratic vice-presidential contender, Kathleen Sebelius. Just ask Phill Kline. The former state attorney general and current district attorney of Johnson County, in suburban Kansas City...

Grand Jury Victory at KS Supreme Court

Tiller Loses Bid To End Grand Jury Investigation The Kansas Supreme Court ruled against late-term abortionist George R. Tiller who had asked the Court to rule that a citizen’s called grand jury was unconstitutional and should be dismissed. Instead the Court found that such grand juries are indeed constitutional. In the same opinion, the Court ruled that subpoenas issued by the grand jury in their investigation into illegal abortions done by Tiller and his associates should be further reviewed by the Sedgwick County District Court to insure that the subpoenas are not overly broad or harassing in nature . The grand jury issued subpoenas to Tiller in January for 2,000 late-term abortion records, a request that was later reduced to 50 records randomly chosen for each of the last five years. The subpoenas specifically state that all patient identifying information should be redacted before being sent to the grand jury. “While we are gratified that the Kansas Supreme Court has upheld the rig...

Governor Sebelius continues to protect Tiller by vetoing CARA

Via LifeNew.Com: The Kansas Senate failed by two votes to overturn a veto from pro-abortion Gov. Kathleen Sebelius on a bill that would have put several common sense abortion limits in place. The vote would have failed by one but a pro-life lawmaker was absent at the time of the debate. The Comprehensive Abortion Reform Act failed on a 25-14 vote and, had Senator Emler been there, the Senate would have been one shy of the 27 votes needed. Planned Parenthood caught lying; Morrison caught covering up for them

Judge Testifies Planned Parenthood Records Were Falsified, Says Abortion Mill Should Not Have Been Cleared Evidence supports allegations of collusion between abortion clinic and Attorney General Morrison Olathe, KS – Shawnee County District Court Judge Richard D. Anderson testified in a Johnson County court on Wednesday that he believed that medical records supplied to him by Planned Parenthood had been altered. Anderson further testified that he sought the opinion of a police handwriting expert, who confirmed his suspicions that information regarding the gestational age of pregnancies had been tampered with. Gestational age is a vital aspect of accusations that Planned Parenthood committed illegal abortions since Kansas law prohibits abortions after 22 weeks when the baby is viable. “Judge Anderson’s testimony is powerful confirmation that Planned Parenthood falsified medical records in order to avoid criminal prosecution. This is a felony in anyone’s universe, and those responsible b...

MORE TROUBLE FOR TILLER AND HIS COHORTS

Operation Rescue Files 11th Hour Motions To Remove District Attorney, AG From Abortion Grand Jury Wichita, KS – Operation Rescue filed two motions in Sedgwick County District Court late today to block District Attorney Nola Foulston and disgraced Attorney General Paul Morrison from participating in a grand jury set to convene tomorrow to investigate late-term abortionist George R. Tiller. “We are seeking to intervene to insure that the will of the 7,500 citizens of Sedgwick County who demanded the grand jury is respected, and that the integrity of this grand jury remains intact,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman, who filed the motions along with Mark Geitzen, who represents the petition signers. Kansas allows for citizens to petition the courts for grand jury investigations. The petition that was approved to convene the Tiller grand jury included a clause that demanded that neither Foulston nor Attorney General Paul Morrison, both supporters of abortion, be allowed to partic...

Morrison's Resignation Not Enough: Operation Rescue Files Complaints Asking For Revocation of Law License

Topeka, KS - January 2, 2008 - Operation Rescue filed two complaints last week asking for the revocation of Attorney General Paul Morrison's law license in the wake of his admitted illicit affair with a subordinate and allegations of attempting to interfere with pending criminal abortion investigations and other cases. Troy Newman, OR's president, filed a complaint with both the Office of the Disciplinary Administrator and the Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission asking for discipline for obvious violations of Kansas law. The first group is responsible for policing attorneys and the second has jurisdiction over enforcement of the code sections listed in Newman's complaints. "Morrison, in attempting to use his influence over his mistress to persuade her to help him tamper with these criminal cases, has violated the very core of ethical conduct that we expect from our attorneys," said Newman. "Morrison still serves as the Attorney General until the end of the ...

Tiller Loses Again

Abortionist Tiller Loses Second Attempt To Dismiss Grand Jury Operation Rescue suspects DA’s attempt to advise grand jury is another effort to cover up for Tiller Wichita, KS – Overruling a motion by attorneys for abortionist George R. Tiller, Judge Paul Buchanan said today that a grand jury will be seated to investigate Tiller on a number of charges, including illegal late-term abortions that took place over the last five years. Citizens, led by Kansans for Life, submitted over twice the number of signatures required to compel the county to convene the grand jury investigation. MORE

Abortion Madness continues in Kansas

Tiller's illegal activities and the political corruption surrounding it continue to be the hot topic in Kansas these days. Of course, abortions are out of control and will continue to be as long as Tiller controls the politicians in this state. This post from Operation Rescue gives us an idea of how things at the Tiller late-term abortion mill have been out of control. Here are some excerpts from that post: The mother of one woman in her 29th week of pregnancy called Mark Geitzen of the Kansas Coalition for Life to ask for intervention on behalf of her daughter. According to the mother, her daughter recently married a man from another country who was physically abusive. The man was forcing her daughter to have a third-trimester abortion. Apparently the pregnant woman, who had been active in the pro-life movement in another state, did not want the abortion, but was complying out of fear severe beatings from her husband. Geitzen reported the call to Operation Rescue, who notified th...

The Soil of Kansas is Stained Red

Phill Kline delivered a " sizzling indictment " before the National Right to Life Convention: "The soil of Kansas is stained red," said Kline, formerly the Kansas attorney general and now Johnson County district attorney. "Abortion is sin, and sin always begins with a lie."Yes, I wish was there. Any attendees care to comment? Via ProLifeBlogs.com

O’Reilly Confronts “Tiller the Baby Killer” In Wichita (updated)

Go here to view the O'Reilly video. (Blogger isn't letting me put it online.) Wichita, KS – Producers for Fox News host Bill O’Reilly were in Wichita last Friday where they confronted late-term abortionist George R. Tiller as he visited a Quick Trip gas station. Operation Rescue assisted the O’Reilly crew in locating Tiller for the impromptu interview. The segment appeared on The O’Reilly Factor news program on Tuesday, June 12, 2007, and discussed the recently released video-taped statement by nationally noted psychiatrist Dr. Paul McHugh, who was contracted by former Attorney General Phill Kline to examine redacted medical records obtained through subpoena from Tiller’s abortion mill and render an expert opinion about the validity of the psychiatric diagnoses used by Tiller to justify post-viability abortions. Kansas law prohibits abortions after 21 weeks gestation unless the mother’s life is in danger or the pregnancy will result in a “substantial and irreversible impairm...
