Heimann THE BOOK I have to admit that while I enjoy watching science fiction films, I am not an avid reader of science fiction books, but I definitely enjoyed reading Discovery by Karina Fabian . In fact, I loved it! It is authentically Catholic – complete with saint quotes and filled with Catholic themes. Some of these themes include: mercy and redemption, evangelization, respect for human life, and surrender to God’s will. Discovery is a gripping, suspense-filled science fiction tale that takes you on a journey into the unknown and the unexpected. It is an irresistible page turner! It grabs you by both arms and doesn't let go until the last page.  Discovery is an exhilarating, fun-filled read that contains all the makings of a great book. The four Pevensie children, those former kings and queens of old, return to Narnia, via an underground subway station, near Trafalgar Square, only to discover that 1300 years have passed since they ruled there, and the evil King Miraz has taken charge. With the help of the heroic mouse Reepicheep, and the exiled heir to the throne, Prince Caspian, they set out to overthrow the King. Like The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, Prince Caspian is visually stunning and the acting is superb. The children are older and more grown up in this film and are given greater challenges in this film which they handle exceedingly well. This second episode of Narnia as contrasted with the first takes on a different tone. While it remains strongly Christian in its theme and values, Prince Caspian tends be less reflective and fantastical but is more action-packed and moves at a faster pace than The Lion, Witch, and The Wardrobe. Last night was movie date time with my dear husband. After reading several reviews of Spider Man - 3 and discussing it with friends (We enjoyed the first two films a lot), we decided to opt for something lighter, with less violence and drama, so we went to see the G-rated "Meet the Robinsons". It is an animated film adapted from William Joyce's children's book, A Day With Wilbur Robinson ," about a futuristic family, with a time-travel plot and a comical villain. To me, it resembled a slightly more whimsical and wacky animated version of "Back to the Future." The plot revolves around a 12- year - old child genius, Lewis, whose mother leaves him on the porch of an orphanage as an infant. Lewis is well cared for in the orphanage, but his love for science, as well as his wacky experiments and unusual inventions, prevent him from attaining the very thing he desires most in life - to be a member of a loving family.
