A Catholic Drudge Report

I have discovered a new blog that looks very appealing and I'm linking to it. Here's the description from NY Mom : The inspiration of the energetic and savvy Fighting Irish Thomas, a Notre Dame alumnus, educator, sports instructor and a freelance writer, Cathlete.net is a welcome alternative to other conservative online news magazines. This attractive site is a collection of political, religious, pro-life and general interest news items in an easily accessed format. An exciting feature is the addition of a wide range of sports news, in keeping with Thomas' own abiding interest in athletic pursuits. Also, links to a variety of useful Catholic websites are conveniently located on either side of the page, including several notices for pregnancy counseling and assistance. The Notre Dame connection is subtly felt throughout, lending a charming Irish Catholic air and a note of nostalgia to the endeavor and particularly warmed the Irish corner of my heart. I may be prejudiced, but

New Blog for Those Who Love The Latin Mass

I am adding a new blog to my Google Reader and my blogroll - Venite, Missa Est! This blog is intended for Catholics who hold and practice the Catholic and Apostolic Faith, who love the Church, and who find especially inspiring the Liturgy of Mass Pope Benedict XVI has named (in his Apostolic Letter, Summorum Pontificum) “the Extraordinary Form of the Latin Rite.” Venite Missa Est has been approved by Bishop Jackels of Wichita, KS and is under the the direction of Msgr. Conley. It is written by the father of a priest in the Wichita diocese and already has six posts up, starting with Summary: Beginner's Guide to EFLR Liturgy . . . An Excerpt from The Imitation of Christ . . . A Saint's Life from the Roman Breviary.

New Blog Link

I have added some new blogs to my sidebar. One that I have been very impressed with is A Catholic Notebook - a member of Catholic Mothers Online . The blog mistress Soutenus, is a Catholic wife, mom, and teacher from Texas who has one of the most organized blogsites I have ever seen. She posts about a variety of topics, but my favorites are her pro-life posts and "Famous Catholics." She also has an ongoing series of posts entitled : "Statements Every Catholic Should Be Able to Answer". Some of these include: You can be pro-choice & Catholic, Natural Family Planning, and Why confess your sins to a priest? This is a beautiful Catholic blog - so go check it out!
