Wheels Of Justice Trapped In Gridlock in Tiller Legal Cases

Via Operation Rescue : Late-term abortionist George R. Tiller is spending a lot on lawyers these days, with cases in three different venues moving along at a glacial pace. These cases can be summarized in three words: delay, delay, delay. Earlier this week, the Kansas Supreme Court finally ruled that subpoenas for evidence issued by a citizen-called grand jury in January can finally be honored, after four months of delays in an investigative process that is supposed to last just 90 days. With the clock ticking on the new July 8 deadline for the grand jury to complete its investigation, the Court placed a maze of complex hurdles on the process of redacting patient identifying information that could be used by Tiller’s high-priced legal team to terminally delay the production of evidence. In another case, the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts notified Operation Rescue representatives last week that two complaints against Tiller and two of his hired abortionists are still pending. Judge Orders That Abortion Records Must Be Given To Grand Jury

Wichita, KS – Judge Paul Buchanan ruled today that medical records must be handed over to a grand jury investigating illegal late-term abortions at George R. Tiller’s Women’s Health Care Services under the condition that identifying information about the patients be redacted. The records will then be provided to an independent attorney and physician appointed by the judge. They will screen the records to determine if there are irregularities before turning them over to the grand jury. “Today’s ruling is a victory for truth and justice,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman, who was present during the court hearing. MORE Here is my favorite part of this story from Operation Rescue: Tiller’s legal team was joined by Bonnie Scott Jones of New York’s Center for Reproductive Rights, who argued on behalf of three former Tiller patients that the records be denied or heavily redacted for privacy considerations. “The privacy that they seem so worried about is just a red herring to defle...

Tiller’s Bold-Faced Lie Insults Community, Victims (Updated)

Image
An Opinion by Cheryl Sullenger, Senior Policy Advisor for Operation Rescue On the 35th memorial of Roe v. Wade, late-term abortionist George R. Tiller defiantly posted a self-promoting banner on the fence surrounding his infamous abortion mill, Women’s Health Care Services, which stated, “Wichita Stands with Dr. Tiller, 35 years of saving women’s lives.” But according to information collected by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDH&E) , there has never been a reported abortion since reporting was mandated that was done for the purpose of saving the life of a woman. It is obvious from state records that Tiller has never saved the life of a single woman by giving her an abortion. Frankly, his statement is insulting to the family of Christin Gilbert , a Tiller patient who died from complications of a botched third-trimester abortion two years ago. The absurdity of Tiller’s claim at life-saving becomes tragically evident when we couple Gilbert’s avoidable death with the...

Shocking Revelation: Late-Abortions Given So Women Could Go To Rock Concerts

Wichita, KS – A Psychologist who has examined over thirty medical records subpoenaed from abortionist George R. Tiller, says women were given late-term abortions on viable babies so they would not have to miss rock concerts and sporting events. Dr. Paul McHugh revealed last week that he examined medical records that showed women who were 26 to 30 weeks into their pregnancies were being given abortions by Tiller for “trivial” birth control reasons under the guise of “mental health” concerns that could not be substantiated by the records. Dr. McHugh is a Harvard educated psychologist who headed the Department of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital for 26 years and serves on the President’s Council on Bioethics. He was asked to review the abortion records by former Attorney General Phill Kline to determine if the mental health diagnoses were psychiatrically justified. [More] Via Operation Rescue. Unprofessional Conduct Complaint Filed Against KS Attorney General

Scandals continue to define Morrison's controversial administration Topeka, KS - May 10, 2007 - A private citizen has filed a formal complaint against Attorney General Paul J. Morrison with the Office of the Disciplinary Administrator for violating the rules of professional conduct that governs the conduct of Kansas attorneys. The complaint centers on a press release posted on the Attorney General's official website that announced the filing of criminal charges against a police major. However, Morrison failed to note that the man facing accusations is innocent until proved guilty, as required by the rules of professional conduct. Without such a statement in the public communiqué, the case against the man could be unfairly prejudiced. Morrison's political career has been plagued by controversy since he switched parties to run for attorney general, causing the Republican Party Chairman Tim Shallenberger to question Morrison's honesty . During the campaign, former employe...
