The Divine Mercy Novena begins on Good Friday

When Jesus taught the Chaplet of Divine Mercy to Saint Faustina, He asked her to recite it during the nine days before the Feast of Divine Mercy – the first Sunday following Easter. However, the Chaplet may be recited at any time. In view of the current situations in the World today, I respectfully suggest that we recite the Chaplet, not only at the three o’clock hour as was requested, but as many times throughout the day as we are able to. The World is in need of God’s Mercy more now, than ever before. At the request of Jesus, Saint Faustina used this Chaplet to fight off a multitude of devils waiting for the soul of a dying man. (Dairy of St. Faustina, passage # 1565).

We too can use it to fight off the evil one and his minions, which are trying to take control of the World. God has provided us with the ‘weapon’, may we use it to its full advantage. Let us join with family, friends, neighbors etc. to beg God’s Mercy “on us and on the whole World.”

Please feel free to photocopy and distribute this information. Send it to everyone you know, worldwide. Flood your Churches (with your Priest’s permission), pass it out at your Prayer Groups etc. Let us form an Army of Divine Mercy Prayer Warriors, and take back the World from the hands of the enemy.

“Five of you will put a hundred of your foes to flight, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand of them …” Lev. 26:8. There is tremendous power in United Intercession.

“More things are wrought by Prayer that this World dreams of.”

Prayed on ordinary rosary beads, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is an intercessory prayer that Our Lord specifically told Saint Faustina to recite during the nine days before the Feast of Mercy (the first Sunday after Easter). He then added: By this Novena, [of Chaplets] I will grant every possible grace to souls (Diary, 796).

Begin with One Our Father, One Hail Mary, One Apostles' Creed
On the large bead before each decade pray the following: Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

On the 10 Small Beads of Each Decade the following prayer is repeated: For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Concluding Doxology: (after five decades)

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. (Three times)

I plan on praying this novena with my husband. It is one of the most powerful novenas I have ever prayed.
