SUDAN: AND YOU DO NOT CRY WITH US

Produced by Aid to the Church in Need, this video tells the historical story of Sudan and how there has been an on-and-off relationship between Islam and Christianity since the 5th century. In the 13th century there was great persecution of the Church and killings of many bishops and others loyal to the Church. Catholicism was restored in 1820. In 1958 the area came under military rule and has been persecuted since. There is a formal re-education program that was implemented first by academics and now by force; it is basically a war against Christians. The goal is for the whole area to be Islamic in religion and Arabic in culture. A successful slave trade business has been developed, with Christians being sold for as little as $15. US dollars.
