Today's Prayer Intentions

Enlivened by the joy of our Easter alleluia, we turn to the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead and pray:

That every type of oppression, discrimination, prejudice, slavery, hatred, and injustice - especially toward the voiceless and innocent unborn child - be crushed and put to death through the Resurrection of our dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Lord, we pray especially for those who are harassing, persecuting, and discriminating against Christians in our society - that like St. Paul, they will experience sudden and dramatic conversions of mind, heart, and soul and be brought to the glory of Your Truth, for You alone are the Way, the Truth and the Life.

That Christ risen from the dead will bless our country and free it from fear and falsehood - especially those lies that are perpetuated by the culture of death.

That the newly baptized and confirmed will find in the Church the meaning and happiness for which their hearts long - especially for the 37 catecumens from our parish who entered into the Church this Easter.

That we may all manifest in concrete ways in our daily lives the truth of Christ's triumph over death.

For those who struggle with chronic health problems that interfere with performing the tasks of their daily lives - especially all those who suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic viral infections, chronic ear infections, severe headaches and other ailments of an "invisible" nature. We pray that the Lord will strengthen their spirit and restore them to health.

For Cardinal Francis George.

For Nicholas, son of Lindsey, who is presently 29½ months and was recently diagnosed with speech developmental problems, that the Holy Spirit will anoint his tongue so that he will be able to speak clearly and communicate.

That those who are experiencing difficulty finding employment will be blessed with the opportunity to work and provide for themselves and their families. We pray especially for those who do not have health insurance or are in danger of losing their health insurance due to unemployment. We pray for an end to discrimination in the job market.

We pray for the homeless, the helpless, and the hungry - that through us the Lord will provide for all their needs.

We pray for healing and conversion of all those who continue to be ensnared by the culture of darkness.

For an increase in vocations to the priesthood and the consecrated life.

For the safety of all our soldiers who are in harm's way, for an end to terrorism and violence, and for world peace.

For all previous prayer intentions mentioned here and for the intentions mentioned around St. Blog's Parish.

We pray to the Lord. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Christ is risen! He is truly risen! Bless us, Father with the assurance of your Son's risen presence in our lives, for Jesus is our Lord, now and forever. Amen.
