October 7: National Life Chain Sunday

The first Sunday in October is National Life Chain Sunday, when people in hundreds of cities across North America gather on the streets for an hour of prayer and public witness for the pre-born.

The event is from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in each time zone.

"The hundreds of thousands of Life Chain participants who silently stand and pray on busy streets all across the country provide a gentle contrast to the shrill demonstrations often staged by abortion advocates," said Connie Pratt, president of Colorado Citizens for Life.

"And the Life Chain signs pro-lifers hold -- 'Abortion Kills Children' and 'Abortion Hurts Women' -- remind passers-by that, while abortion is, indeed, a 'war' waged against the helpless baby, it's always fought on the battleground of the mother's body, psyche and soul. Abortion is truly as much woman abuse as it is child abuse."
