Optional Memorial of St. Isidore of Seville, bishop and doctor

St. Isidore was born around the year 560 in Seville, Spain. After his father's death, he was raised by his brother Leander. He was appointed Bishop of Seville, and wrote many learned works. As Bishop, he called together several councils in Spain and presided over them with wisdom. He died in 636.
