Two News Conferences as Pro-Lifers Picket NEA Convention & State HQs Nationwide July 2
9:30 AM at Family Research Council, 801 G Street, NW, Washington, DC
10:30 AM at Washington Convention Center, Mt. Vernon Square NW
Media highly focused on NEA as union prepares to hear & endorse Obama
Two pro-life news conferences confronting the National Education Association's leadership's pro-abortion resolutions, policies, and activism will be presented in Washington, DC on Wednesday, July 2 during the NEA Convention. The first will be indoors at 9:30 AM in the Family Research Council’s press room at 801 G Street, NW. The second at 10:30 AM outside of the Washington Convention Center's main entrance on Mount Vernon Square as pro-lifers picket the NEA Convention.
A panel of at least ten pro-life leaders and activists (including NEA members and delegates) will confront the NEA leadership's abortion agenda with the goal of neutralizing NEA on abortion and removing NEA as a player in America's abortion war.
The NEA Convention and NEA-affiliate offices across America will be simultaneously picketed by pro-life teachers and other school employees, students, parents, and clergy from 11:00 AM through 1:00 PM. The fact that NEA has issued press releases announcing that Barack Obama will address and then be endorsed at the NEA Convention means that media presence and interest in the event will be much higher than in recent years.
Pro-Life speakers, so far, include:
Chuck Donovan – Exec VP Family Research Council
Becky Banks – Students for Life of America
Rev. Clenard H. Childress – BlackGenocide.org
Jim Sedlak – VP American Life League
Judy Bruns – Teachers Saving Children (NEA Delegate)
Sissy Jochmann – NEA Conservative Educators Caucus (NEA Delegate)
Peter Shinn – Pro-Life Unity
Missy Smith – Women Against Killing and Exploitation of Unprotected Persons
John Tomicki – League of American Families
Bob Pawson – ProLife Educators And Students (NEA member)
Some main points which will be made are:
1) Teachers join NEA for collective bargaining representation; not to be misrepresented on social, moral, or political issues. NEA's leadership must repeal abortion-related resolutions and policies and become unquestionably abortion-neutral; totally disengaged from the abortion issue.
2) It seems rather wicked and obtuse for teacher organizations to be supportive of a practice or philosophy which eliminates children – future students – resulting in teacher unemployment.
3) NEA's leadership must end its collaboration with pro-abortion organizations such as Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and NOW; stop co-sponsoring pro-abortion rallies and marches.
4) Pro-life NEA members in school districts across America are urged to run for union office at all levels; especially to become NEA Convention delegates – thus guarantee the neutralizing of the NEA and its affiliates on abortion.

Teachers supporting abortion makes as much sense as Obstetricians supporting birth control; where do they expect their future students/patients to come from?
