Eleven Thought-Provoking Films to Look for This Fall

Check them out here. I'm really looking forward to seeing Fireproof. What are you looking forward to seeing?

  1. I know a couple of people who saw the film a couple of months ago in a preview. They thought it was OK, but generally crappy film making like so many Christian films. Kurt Cameron has done nothing but star is really bad Christian films and while Fireproof is better than the left behind movies, it is not up to par.

The same company also produced Facing the Giants another sub par movie, though it did pretty good. Just having solid Christian themes is not enough, being good at the art is so important or else Christian films will be in a ghetto. The Walden Group has fallen in the same trap of producing Christian films that are mediocre.

Fireproof is more than likely a decent movie and family friendly, it is just not what it could be based on what I heard about it.

  2. By the way it is great to see you on Twitter.

We also have a solid Catholic community on Plurk where I am at http://www.plurk.com/user/CurtJester.

Plurk is cool because you can comment directly and the comments are threaded unlike twitter. ping.fm lets you post to facebook, twitter, and plurk simultaneously.
