Shocking Statement from Dem Operative on Gov. Palin

From Politico:

S.C. Dem chair: Palin primary qualification is she hasn’t had an abortion

South Carolina Democratic chairwoman Carol Fowler sharply attacked Sarah Palin today, saying John McCain had chosen a running mate "whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.”

Palin is an opponent of abortion rights and gave birth to her fifth child, Trig, earlier this year after finding out during her pregnancy that the baby had Down syndrome.

Fowler told my colleague Alex Burns in an interview that the selection of an opponent of abortion rights would not boost McCain among many women.

“Among Democratic women and even among independent women, I don’t think it helped him,” she said.

Told of McCain’s boost in the new ABC/Washington Post among white women following the Palin pick, Fowler said: "Just anecdotally, I believe that those white women are Republican women anyway."

Will abortion be the defining issue of the campaign?

  2. The misogynist, Wahabbi-esque nature of the Obama campaign, continues to detoriate.

These people have no shame, they have no virtue, they don't care or respect the unborn or the in Barry's case the born alive!!!

I believe that our Roman Catholic brethren in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, etc. are going to stand up on November 4th and take McCain Palin to victory!!!

I pray for and thank God every night for John Sidney McCain III & Sarah Louise Heath Palin!!!

  3. Wow. I was willing to give Obama and his pig/lipstick comment a partial pass - I can imagine him saying it without thinking first of what he was implying - but this woman's comment was downright offensive.

  4. I think it just might be the defining issue. Fowler's attack is disgusting. All of the attacks on Palin really smack of spiritual warfare. I do think it's all about respect for life.

  5. I should add that as a Michigan resident I am very hopeful that our state will go Republican precisely be- cause of the life issues. Michigan is a very pro-life state. Every referendum on life gets passed. People do not realize this because the strong union presence often tips the scales democratic. But the people in Michigan DO care about the unborn and our pro-lifers VOTE.
