Tiller Tries to Avoid Trial By Putting Prosecutors on Trial
Kansas late-term abortionist George Tiller of Wichita is trying to get out of charges filed by former Kansas A.G. Paul Morrison, which were based in part on evidence obtained by former Kansas A.G. Phill Kline.
The trial on the actual charges against Tiller is set for next March.
Tiller already tried to put the law itself on trial, but Judge Clark Owens found the Kansas law completely constitutional.
Now Tiller seeks to put the prosecutors on trial with a 160 page motion that makes all kinds of ridiculous charges, but which is basically just some very high paid defense lawyers throwing allegations (and mud) against the wall to see if they can get anything to stick in an attempt to get out of the upcoming trial.
Current A.G. Six is arguing through assistant A.G. Barry Disney that Kline and Morrison acted legally in bringing the charges.
Today, Kline testified. His testimony will continue Friday. Others will testify throughout the week.
The Associated Press reported that Tiller was in the courtroom today while Kline testified, and that Tiller wore a button that said "Attitude is Everything."
