What's a "Personally Pro-life" but Profundly Pro-death Governor to do?
Yesterday, the Kansas legislature passed the Woman’s Right to Know and See Act, which requires abortion providers to allow expectant mothers to see their unborn child via ultrasound or listen to their heartbeat, and to provide literature on abortion alternatives. The bill also requires each abortion provider to post a notice that it is illegal to force a woman to have an abortion.
The bill is now sitting on Sebelius' desk. How will it look to the public if this "promising" nominee for the position of Health and Human secretary vetoes this bill that guarantees women their basic rights to know before making a decision to have an abortion (informed consent)? It could threaten her chance at gaining more power, prestige, and control. It might shine some truth on who she really is -- a solid supporter of pro-death policies, as someone who doesn't care at all about women or what happens to them.
On the other hand, it just might make her look really good if she does sign it. In spite of the fact that she has taken blood money from Tiller in exchange for protecting him and supported every pro-death bill to come across her desk, signing this bill might just put her in a more favorable light. She can say, "Look at me now. Would someone who supported maiming and murdering women, killing babies, and forced abortions do something good like this? I am a feminist and I want to empower women by giving them more information."
Maybe the decision isn't so difficult at all. Doing the right thing for a change just might boost her political career.
I expect that the Gov. will continue to toe the line of the death eaters.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Paul, the Queen of Death, why do you think she will change?
ReplyDeleteIf she does as expected above, at least people will know her true colors. Should also reflect on just what this administration is all about too.
