March 13, 2013. (Romereports.com) It's the Latin phrase that was heard all over the world. 'Habemus Papam,' which translates to 'We have a Pope,  was announced by Cardinal Deacon Jean-Louis Tauran, as he looked over St. Peter's Square and introduced Jorge Bergoglio as Pope Francis I.

When white smoke began to emerge from the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican's historic bells began to ring for about an hour. St. Peter's Square was filled with thousands of people who were eager to see the new Pope and receive his first Papal blessing.
